Just weeks after its grand opening on November 15, 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is facing another round of technical troubles at Disneyland Resort. Guests continue to report malfunctions on the Splash Mountain retheme, raising concerns about the attraction’s long-term reliability.
Another Breakdown on the Bayou
For the second time in a matter of days, Princess Tiana’s animatronic on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has failed to perform as intended. According to reports from Disneyland Park visitors, the final Tiana figure in the attraction stood eerily still, unable to sing alongside her fellow characters in the ride’s grand finale.
On Wednesday, Redditor u/Loving_Succy posted about the issue with the Tiana animatronic. In their post, they shared a photo of the character appearing to sing “with her mouth shut” during the ride.

“Anyone else see Tiana frozen today?” the guest asked. “Singing without opening her mouth.”
Other guests confirmed that the problem had been ongoing since at least Tuesday night. Redditor u/rr2sweet commented, “She was like this last night when we went on.”
A Troubled Start
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened to much fanfare at Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park this year. The Princess and the Frog (2009) attraction follows Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), and Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis) as they search for musicians for a grand New Orleans celebration.
However, both versions of the attraction have faced persistent issues. Walt Disney World Resort’s rethemed Splash Mountain ride, which opened in June, struggled during its initial previews and opening weeks, with multiple breakdowns leading to early closures and canceled previews. Disneyland Resort’s version appeared to fare better—at first.
Now, just weeks after its grand opening, guests are voicing frustration about the state of the Bayou Country ride.
Fans React to Repeated Issues
Many Disney Parks fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the ride’s malfunctions. Some feel the issues are emblematic of broader maintenance challenges across Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
“Probably needs the same parts as Jack at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean, whose mouth hasn’t moved in years,” Redditor u/Taco_Cat_Cat_Taco commented.
Others shared similar experiences with the Walt Disney World version of the ride. “I went on the WDW Tiana’s a month after it opened and multiple animatronics were broken (including that one),” wrote u/DaddyzLuv. “When I rode the Disneyland ride on its 2nd day I was very happy to see that everything was working. I had assumed they worked out all the bugs from what they learned at WDW. I guess I was wrong.”
