Luxury Disneyland Resort Location Will Remain Closed Through 2026

Disneyland Resort fans will have to wait even longer for the return of one of its most luxurious dining experiences. This week, the Southern California vacation destination confirmed that Napa Rose, a restaurant inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, will stay closed well beyond its scheduled reopening date.

In January 2025, Disneyland Resort revealed a slate of changes coming to its three on-property hotels: the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Pixar Place Hotel. New offerings rolled out quickly. In July, the Disneyland Hotel debuted the High Key Club, a premier club-level concierge lounge that is twice the size of the former E-Ticket Club. At Pixar Place Hotel, guests gained access to two new suite types inspired by Coco (2017) and The Incredibles (2004).

However, some of the most ambitious plans were reserved for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Disneyland Resort confirmed that the hotel would receive a second, two-story club-level lounge to complement the existing Veranda lounge, with an opening planned for 2026.

Alongside those plans, the Southern California Disney Resort announced that Napa Rose, the flagship restaurant of the Grand Californian Hotel, would undergo an extensive redesign. The restaurant closed in April with the promise of a refreshed look that would blend Craftsman style with modern Californian luxury. Planned upgrades included a Mission grapevine-inspired chandelier, a larger exhibition kitchen where guests could watch chefs at work, and a new outdoor patio featuring additional seating and two fireplaces.

Napa Rose also assured fans that while new menu items would debut, some guest favorites would remain on the menu. At the time, Disneyland Resort set the restaurant’s reopening for fall 2025.

That timeline has now changed. According to theme park journalist Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) on X (formerly known as Twitter):

NEW: Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is now scheduled to reopen in early 2026. It was previously set to reopen in the fall of this year.

For now, Napa Rose remains behind closed doors as work continues on its transformation. Guests staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will still have access to the hotel’s other dining offerings.
