Disney Retires Controversial Show, Announces Minnie’s Big Return

Disney has revealed that one of its least-loved offerings will not be returning at what is widely regarded as its most divisive theme park.

Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris has been dogged by criticism. Guests have pointed to the lack of rides and complained that its theming feels flat compared to the adjacent Disneyland Park. The park’s identity has often been questioned, its layout compared more to a studio backlot than an immersive Disney world.

Disney has responded with a sweeping transformation. Avengers Campus opened in 2022, World of Frozen is under construction, and an expansive Lion King–inspired land is planned. Earlier this year, the park unveiled World Premiere, a reimagined entry area that replaced the notoriously unpopular Studio 1.

One consistent strength of Walt Disney Studios Park has been its stage productions. Shows such as Mickey and the Magician and TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure have earned glowing reviews. However, not every experiment has been as warmly received.

A Show That Never Connected

Last November, Studio D introduced Minnie’s Musical Moment, a short “happening” in which Minnie and her friend Jamie played a game of “name that song.” The concept failed to impress. Some visitors criticized it as “cruise ship entertainment,” while others suggested it was a cost-saving measure with fewer performers and minimal staging.

The production replaced Disney Junior Dream Factory, which had premiered in 2021 following a pandemic delay. That show focused on Mickey and Minnie fixing dream-making machines alongside characters like Fancy Nancy, Timon, and Vampirina. While niche, it appealed to the Disney Jr. demographic and featured a fuller cast.

⚠️ From February 2026, Studio D will host “Minnie’s Dream Factory”, a reworked show where Minnie will lead Daisy, Donald and Chip ‘n’ Dale on an immersive musical wonder.

Musical Moment closed in March after just a few months, leaving fans waiting to see how Disney would retool the venue.

Minnie Gets Another Chance

The replacement has now been confirmed. Beginning in February 2026, Studio D will host Minnie’s Dream Factory. The new show will feature Minnie alongside Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in what Disney describes as an “immersive musical wonder”. Although details remain scarce, the inclusion of classic Disney characters has already sparked optimism. As one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Excellent news, hoping that the show is of quality. In any case, these ‘classic’ characters are more unifying than those from Disney Channel, which are becoming unknown to a good portion of the visitors.”

The move reflects a larger trend at Walt Disney Studios Park: slowly replacing temporary or underwhelming offerings with more ambitious, crowd-pleasing experiences. For a park that has long struggled with its identity, even small adjustments like this mark steps toward a stronger future.
