New Report Reveals Disney World Guests Should Brace for Change This Weekend

Weekend plans at Walt Disney World Resort could face some interruptions.

With the holidays approaching, the parks are gearing up for a busy stretch. Halloween celebrations are ongoing, and soon Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year will bring more visitors to Central Florida. Crowds are expected, and even Lightning Lane passes have sold out on consecutive days during past holiday seasons. Guests often prepare for both the crowds and the weather.

Florida’s weather remains unpredictable due to tropical activity along the coast. A cold front is predicted to move through Central Florida Friday night into Saturday morning, producing scattered showers. Click Orlando reports that cooler, drier air will follow, with highs in the low 80s and morning temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Fall conditions are gradually taking hold, with the report noting a “noticeable” change coming imminently. A more comfortable and drier air mass will arrive, keeping rain chances low. Morning temperatures will drop into the 60s, while afternoons remain near the low 80s. Cold fronts are not unusual in the region; in the past year, arctic conditions caused Disney’s water parks to close multiple times.

Regarding water parks, Typhoon Lagoon is listed as opening this weekend, though it’s recommended to confirm operating hours close to your visit. Blizzard Beach has no confirmed reopening date but is expected to return in early 2026. Typhoon Lagoon will also host Moonlight Magic events for Disney Vacation Club members, starting June 25, 2026, which means any temporary closure will conclude before that date.

There remains a chance that both water parks will operate together, as they did during the summer, providing additional options for guests.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
