Disney Fans Are Dying to Step Inside This Land (and Why Disney Should Listen)

If there’s one thing Disney fans are great at, it’s making their voices heard. And lately, those voices have one clear message: it’s time for something new.

Not another safe bet or a predictable expansion — something bold. The fandom has latched onto a dream concept they call Mythic Lands, and if Disney’s listening, this could be a massive win for the parks.

What’s Already in Motion

Disney already has plenty on its plate when it comes to park expansions. Magic Kingdom has a Villains Land on the way, and fans have been begging for this kind of dark, theatrical space for years.

Frontierland might get Piston Peak, inspired by Planes: Fire & Rescue, while Hollywood Studios will soon bring guests face-to-face with Monstropolis from Monsters, Inc. And over at Animal Kingdom, DinoLand is making way for Tropical Americas, a lush expansion built around Encanto and Indiana Jones.

These are exciting steps, but they’re also exactly what people expect from Disney: established franchises, proven fan bases, and safe investments.

A Bold, Fan-Fueled Idea

Mythic Lands is a unique concept — one born from fans rather than boardrooms. It combines four cult-favorite Disney films: Hercules, Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and The Emperor’s New Groove.

These stories may not have dominated the box office when they premiered, but they’ve built something more powerful over time: loyalty. Fans love these worlds, and they’ve never truly been brought to life in the parks.

Olympus Awaits

A Hercules-inspired Mount Olympus would offer Disney something it hasn’t leaned into much lately: grandeur. Think of sweeping marble columns, golden light, music drifting from the Muses, and a fiery dark ride racing through Hades’ Underworld. It would feel like a celebration of myth and spectacle, balanced with a family ride and a live stage show.

Treasure Planet’s Skyport Adventure

Treasure Planet could bring a fresh aesthetic unlike anything else at Disney. A bustling skyport with floating ships, glowing lanterns, and a thrilling flight simulator would immerse guests in a world of cosmic adventure. Interactive treasure hunts and themed dining would make this corner a standout.

Atlantis Shines Beneath the Surface

With Atlantis, Disney has a chance to do what it does best: create jaw-dropping environments. A glowing underwater portal could lead to a large-scale dark ride, utilizing projection mapping and trackless technology to bring the lost city to life. Its mysterious, crystal-lit atmosphere would feel like nothing else in the parks.

Then comes the comic relief. The Emperor’s New Groove would add color and humor to the mix, with playful architecture and character-driven attractions.

The obvious highlight: a Yzma’s Secret Lab coaster, complete with her famous “WRONG LEVER!” scream before the drop. Add a family dark ride and themed snacks, and you’ve got instant fan appeal.

The Perfect Opportunity

Mythic Lands isn’t just fan service — it’s smart strategy. These films carry nostalgia, but they also bring untapped potential. Disney could deliver a new land that’s equal parts emotional, adventurous, and hilarious. Fans have already shown up for less; imagine the excitement for something they actually asked for.

If Disney wants a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, this might be it. Fans are already begging. All Disney has to do is listen.
