A historic Disney Store location will soon bid farewell to Disneyland Paris Resort guests. The closure date has been set, and Disney Parks fans have just weeks remaining to visit this vintage retail destination before it undergoes a complete transformation.
Closure Confirmed for Disney Store Location

In November, information surfaced through the Disneyland Paris Resort mobile app, revealing that the original Disney Store in the Disney Village shopping district would cease operations on January 4, 2026. Guests planning to visit this location should note that Saturday, January 3, marks the final day to shop at the store before its closure. Once January 4 arrives, the retail space transitions into what Disneyland Paris officials are describing as a “refurbishment phase.”

The European Disney park recently unveiled concept artwork showcasing the design of the replacement merchandise location, Disney Wonders:

A grand opening date has not been announced.
Extensive Disney Village Redevelopment Underway
The Disney Store closure fits into a broader pattern of change sweeping through Disney Village. Multiple construction projects are reshaping the shopping and dining district, with several high-profile transformations happening concurrently. One of the most substantial changes involves the existing McDonald's restaurant, which has operated in Disney Village for more than two decades in its current vintage configuration.

Plans call for demolishing this longstanding location and constructing a replacement facility featuring multiple floors and contemporary design elements. The new McDonald's is scheduled to welcome its first customers in early 2026.
Recent months have also seen the successful debut of several refreshed retail concepts within Disney Village. The district now features an updated LEGO store and two new additions: Disney Glamour and Disney Style.
Major Park Transformation Happening Nearby

Disney Village's changes occur against the backdrop of even more ambitious developments at Disneyland Paris Resort. The property's second theme park, currently known as Walt Disney Studios Park, is undergoing a comprehensive reimagining that will result in a new identity: Disney Adventure World. The refreshed park concept abandons the behind-the-scenes movie production theme in favor of transporting guests directly into iconic film worlds.
Disney Adventure World's grand opening is scheduled for March 29, 2026, featuring the debut of World of Frozen. This expansion includes two new attractions, along with themed dining options and entertainment experiences that bring the Frozen (2013) universe to life.

Walt Disney Imagineering continues developing additional expansions for Disney Adventure World beyond the initial opening. A Lion King (1994)-inspired land featuring a log flume-style attraction is in development, though Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't committed to a specific debut timeframe for this addition.
