runDisney participants are warning others about potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity during Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, scheduled for January 29 through February 1. Experienced runners say the event could become a target for immigration enforcement, coming just days after ICE established a new detention facility near Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Summer 2025 ICE Presence Confirmed

Last summer, rumors circulated that ICE officers stationed near Disneyland Resort's parking garage were intercepting cast members arriving for work. TikTok videos warning Disney Park guests to avoid the area went viral, prompting Disney to issue an official statement denying ICE presence on Anaheim property and confirming normal resort operations.
Despite the lack of agents on Disney property, ICE activity throughout Southern California has impacted theme park tourism. Numerous guests—particularly international travelers—have canceled Disneyland vacations either in protest or fear of the ongoing immigration crackdown. Tensions have only escalated following the contested ICE killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Runners Issue Warnings About Race Weekend

Disneyland Resort hosts the annual Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend from January 29 through February 1, 2026. Thousands of runners will travel to Southern California for three races: a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon.
Race courses run partially on Disney property and partially on public Anaheim streets, where some runners anticipate ICE patrols. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @park_journey, a repeat runDisney participant, reported spotting undercover agents at previous races and expressed concern that ICE won't attempt to conceal them this weekend:
A reminder to anybody running Disneyland half next weekend.
ICE has been present at the past few Disneyland races as we run though Anaheim, although they’ve tried to hide.
They will not be hiding this weekend. It’s up to each of us to let them know they aren’t welcome. #NoIce
