Thousands Flee Disneyland as ICE Raids California

On June 12, 2025, reports of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers near the Southern California Disney parks emerged. Social media users claimed that ICE officers were spotted near cast member entrances and in Disneyland Resort parking structures, making many locals and visitors wonder whether the raids in Los Angeles had spread to Anaheim.

Disneyland Resort responded just hours after reports began circulating on social media that Disney Park guests and cast members were concerned about ICE officers’ presence in the area. Disney confirmed that ICE was not present at the Southern California destination on Thursday and that the parks and resorts were operating normally.

Still, ICE activity in nearby Los Angeles has discouraged some families from visiting Disneyland Resort. On June 9, 2025, TikTok user @justcoffeenjose shared a video of a practically empty Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park around 3:30 p.m. “Disney feels off,” the TikTok user wrote.

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 200,000 likes and thousands of comments. Several Disney cast members confirmed the quieter atmosphere in the parks that day.

“Working today we all noticed it’s empty,” @nessa_justalilbit commented. “Literally everyone was telling each other to get home safe and [don’t] go out unless u have too.”

@dyepretty__ echoed this sentiment: “I work there and it doesn’t feel the same right now. We don’t even want to be there either.”

The situation seemed to resonate deeply with many Disney Parks fans, as some commented on their discomfort with the thought of visiting Disneyland Resort when ICE was reportedly separating families just miles away.

“Doesn’t feel right to have fun when families are getting ripped apart,” @kariilove_ commented.

“I’m not blocked but my heart is weighing heavy with what all our brothers & sisters are going thru,” @virgoqueenyeri agreed.

However, not everyone agreed that Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are emptier than usual. Some argued that the video and the reports of a quieter park were inaccurate.

“That area at Disney is never busy,” @theyenvy.jassss argued.

“I was there and it was mad busy!” said @kbdelaia.

Disneyland Resort does not publicly share its live attendance numbers, so it’s difficult to determine how much the Los Angeles ICE activity and protests affected guest turnout.
