Fourth Fire Breaks Out in the EPCOT World Showcase

Another fire incident has been reported at EPCOT, marking the fourth in a string of similar occurrences at or near the second Walt Disney World Resort theme park this year. Guests visiting the popular theme park on Tuesday were once again startled to see smoke rising from the direction of several World Showcase Pavilions, raising fresh concerns about the park’s recent fire-related track record.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, a fire was reportedly spotted near the China, Germany, and Italy World Showcase Pavilions at EPCOT. Although Disney has not confirmed any details, multiple guest-shared photos indicate smoke was visible over this area of the park. The latest report follows three other incidents earlier this year.

In May, a popcorn cart went up in flames near the Imagination! Pavilion. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the snack stand portion of the cart reopened shortly after. That event came weeks after another concerning moment in March, when black smoke was seen billowing from the France World Showcase Pavilion. At the time, guests described a strong smell of smoke, and photos of the thick plumes quickly spread across social media.

Later that same month, additional smoke was observed near the Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, which are located within walking distance of EPCOT.

Now, yet another guest is reporting smoke inside EPCOT’s World Showcase.

On Wednesday, June 11, Reddit user u/Calico_Leopard shared photos reportedly taken the day prior, writing, “Fire behind epcot china/germany/italy yesterday, anyone got updates?” The guest explained that the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on June 10.

“My pictures arent the best but around 6pm or so yesterday we were at Spice Road and heard the sirens from the backlot, came around and saw the big smoke rising up behind the countries,” they wrote.

Disney Parks fans expressed shock over yet another fire-related incident at EPCOT.

“Its the which country is going to be on fire this time hot potato game,” one Reddit user, u/Lead_resource, joked.

So far, Walt Disney World Resort has not released a statement about the most recent incident, and the China, Germany, and Italy Pavilions appeared to be operating normally at the time of this article’s publication. No official cause has been identified, and it remains unclear whether the reported smoke originated from an actual fire or another source.
