Most guests walking down Main Street, U.S.A., at Magic Kingdom this morning had no idea a ceremony was happening. Many of them probably did not stop to read the new window. The majority of them walked right past one of the most exclusive honors Disney gives out and kept moving toward the castle.
That is how the windows in Main Street, U.S.A. work. They are not announced over the loudspeaker. There isn't an event with a parade or a press release aimed at general guests. This is done quietly and placed on buildings that millions of people walk past. Those windows wait there permanently for the guests who know enough to stop and read them.
This morning, April 10, 2026, a new one was added. Kevin Lansberry, who retired in February 2026 after 39 years with Disney, was honored with a window ceremony at Magic Kingdom. Sources say Josh D'Amaro, CEO of Disney Experiences, and Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World, were both in attendance alongside Lansberry himself.
What the Window Says
The new window is positioned on the top row of the blue facade of Main Street, U.S.A. Bakery in the very center, one of the most prominent locations available on that stretch of the street. It reads Main Street Trust and Loan, Kevin Lansberry, Director, Care Compassion Commitment, Investing in Making Dreams Come True.
The fictional business framing reflects the nature of Lansberry's career in financial leadership across Disney Parks and ultimately the parent company. The language around care, compassion, and commitment reflects the values sources say defined his approach across nearly four decades of service. The phrase investing in making dreams come true ties his financial background directly to the Disney mission in a way that feels earned rather than generic.

The recipient also receives a personal copy of the window display as part of the ceremony. A keepsake that mirrors the public installation.
The Career Behind the Window
Thirty-nine years. That number alone tells you something significant. But the roles Lansberry held across those years tell the fuller story.
His positions included VP of Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World, VP of Disney's Animal Kingdom, Senior VP of Worldwide Travel Operations, SVP of Revenue Management and Analytics for Disney Parks, and Executive VP and CFO of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a role that later expanded to include Consumer Products. In 2023, following Christine McCarthy's departure, Lansberry served as interim CFO of The Walt Disney Company itself, one of the most consequential financial leadership roles in the entire organization at a critical moment in the company's recent history.
A career that spans both coasts, multiple divisions, and ultimately the interim CFO role at the parent company level is exactly what the Main Street, U.S.A. window tradition was created to honor.
Why This Honor Is Different From Everything Else
Main Street, U.S.A., windows are not handed out routinely. According to former Disney Imagineering head Marty Sklar, the honor carries three strict requirements. It is only given on retirement. Only for the highest level of service, respect, and achievement. And only with the agreement of the top individual park management and Walt Disney Imagineering, which handles the design and copy for each window.
Those requirements exist specifically to protect the meaning of the tradition. Lillian Disney received a Main Street, U.S.A. window last year. The list of names on those windows represents a very specific group of people. People whose contributions to the Disney parks and the company left marks deemed worthy of permanent commemoration.
Kevin Lansberry's name belongs on that list and as of this morning it is there.
For Guests Visiting Magic Kingdom
The window is located on the blue facade of Main Street Bakery, positioned in the top center row. It is already open. Most guests will walk past it. But those who stop to read it will discover four lines commemorating 39 years of service to one of the most recognized entertainment organizations in the world.
That is what those windows are for.
