A police operation unfolded at a Disney park yesterday (May 1).
Security is tight across Disney destinations, but serious cases often involve local law enforcement. Officers have responded to theft, disputes, and guest altercations, both inside parks and in surrounding areas.

Recent enforcement has extended beyond individual incidents. In March, authorities arrested 28 passholders following a merchandise theft and resale investigation tied to Disney property.
Another investigation has now led to further arrests, following activity around a busy tourist destination.
Increased Enforcement Around Tourist Zones
Police activity ramped up during a peak travel period, with officers targeting transport hubs and areas surrounding a Disney park (via Hong Kong Commercial Daily).
Multiple units were deployed to monitor behavior and identify violations linked to visitor transport. Operations focused on locations frequently used by tourists, particularly during high-demand periods.

The approach reflects a wider effort to address issues that can emerge when visitor numbers surge, including unregulated services operating near major attractions.
Three Arrested in Undercover Operation
Undercover officers posed as tourists inside the Disney area, monitoring driver behavior. Three local men, aged between 45 and 78, were arrested after allegedly approaching them and offering rides that broke multiple regulations.
Authorities said the drivers overcharged passengers, avoided direct routes, and failed to display valid taxi licenses. The vehicle involved has since been impounded.

A separate operation led to the arrest of a 41-year-old driver at a nearby airport. He allegedly solicited business in a restricted parking area and is expected to face prosecution.
The investigation took place around Hong Kong Disneyland and nearby transport hubs, according to local reports.
Officials said enforcement will continue across major tourist hotspots, including Disney locations. Taxi-related violations remain a focus, particularly during peak travel periods.

Authorities have previously targeted activity tied to Disney tourism in the region. In 2025, eight people were arrested during operations linked to unauthorized commercial photography inside the park.
Officials said those services violated Disney rules and, in some cases, immigration conditions. Authorities warned that both providers and clients could face penalties.
