Disney Isn’t Selling Out The Economy Might Be Telling Us We Don’t Want to Hear

D23 tickets do not normally sit around for a month. That is not how this event has worked historically, and anyone who has navigated the D23 ticketing process in previous years knows that the window between sale opening and sell out has been measured in hours and days, not weeks.

One month after tickets went on sale for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 in Anaheim, Honda Center floor seats are still available at prices that have never been seen at this event before, and the Disney fan community is starting to ask out loud what that actually means.

The Tickets That Are Still Available

Here is what you can still buy right now for D23 2026:

  • Floor sections 104 through 109 at the Honda Center: very limited inventory at $2,299 for three days
  • Floor sections 101 through 103 at the Honda Center: very limited inventory at $2,599 for three days
  • Afternoon-only D23 Fan Pass at $49: available for Friday Saturday and Sunday
  • Standard $99 single-day Convention Center pass: available for Friday and Sunday only

The Disney Tickets That Already Sold Out

To be clear this is not a story about an event nobody wants to attend. The accessible tiers moved. Here is what is gone:

  • Standard 3-day D23 Fan Pass at $297 for Convention Center access: sold out
  • Standard D23 Ultimate Fan Passes at $327 $477 and $957 for Honda Center access: all sold out
  • Saturday $99 single-day Convention Center pass: sold out

The pattern is impossible to miss. Everything at a price point most Disney fans could reasonably absorb sold. Everything priced at $2,299 and above is still sitting there.

What D23 Actually Is

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 runs August 14 through 16 in Anaheim, California, with programming across the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center. The evening Honda Center presentations are where the biggest announcements happen, and only Ultimate Fan Pass and Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass holders get inside for those sessions. The three evening presentations are:

  • Friday August 14: Disney Entertainment Showcase
  • Saturday August 15: Disney Experiences Showcase, the session that historically delivers the most significant theme park announcements of any D23 weekend
  • Sunday August 16 at 1:30 p.m.: Disney Legends Award Ceremony hosted by Ryan Seacrest

The Convention Center programming across all three days includes more than 50 panels and presentations, limited-edition merchandise drops, fan programming, and the premiere of a new documentary. Convention Center-only passes do not include Honda Center access, regardless of which day or tier you purchase.

When Sales Opened

Each ticket carries an $11.25 service fee, and each transaction carries a $16.00 delivery fee on top of the ticket price.

What Is Actually Going On With Disney

The honest answer is that nobody knows for certain whether the remaining inventory reflects a temporary hesitation from fans who will eventually purchase or something more significant about where discretionary spending on premium experiences currently stands. What is observable is this. The most expensive floor sections in D23 history are the ones that remain unsold.

The economic environment most American households are navigating right now is not one where a $2,299 or $2,599 per person fan event is a comfortable purchase. And the combination of record prices and economic pressure landing at the same moment is producing a D23 ticket situation that has not existed in this form before.

The very limited designation on the remaining floor sections does indicate that inventory is moving, just not at the velocity this event has historically generated. Whether the final floor seats clear before August 14 or whether D23 2026 becomes the first event in the convention's history to arrive with unsold Honda Center access is the question the next few weeks will answer.

For anyone still considering the remaining floor seats, Saturday, August 15, is the one to prioritize. The Disney Experiences Showcase that evening is historically where the most significant theme park announcements of any D23 weekend are made. Those seats are running out. The economy is what it is. The choice is yours.
