Disney Adds Expensive New Vacation Upgrade to 2027 Disney World Packages

A Walt Disney World vacation already takes a lot of planning, but dining might become an even bigger part of the process in 2027.

Disney has officially revealed three major dining-related offers and changes for next year, and they range from discounts for kids to an entirely new premium dining plan tier. For guests already trying to figure out how much a Disney vacation will cost in 2027, these updates could play a pretty big role in the final budget.

The most noticeable change is the arrival of a brand-new Disney Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan. Disney hasn’t introduced a completely new dining tier in years, so this is a pretty significant update.

The plan is built for guests who enjoy spending a lot of time at sit-down restaurants. Instead of the usual one table-service meal per night, this version includes two table-service meals per night of stay. Guests also receive one quick-service meal, snacks, refillable mugs, and beverage options throughout the trip.

In other words, this plan is clearly targeting the “foodie” side of Disney vacations.

Dining at Walt Disney World has changed a lot over the years. Guests now race to secure reservations at restaurants almost as aggressively as they try to book Lightning Lanes. Places like Space 220, Topolino’s Terrace, and Story Book Dining at Artist Point have become major attractions on their own.

Disney seems fully aware of that trend.

At the same time, the company is also trying to help families offset some costs. In 2027, children ages 3 through 9 will receive 20% off dining plans when families purchase eligible vacation packages that include dining.

For parents already spending thousands on hotels and tickets, even a smaller dining discount can help quite a bit over the course of a weeklong vacation. Meals at Disney continue getting more expensive every year, especially at table-service restaurants and character dining locations.

Disney is also bringing back one of its most popular international promotions. Guests visiting from the United Kingdom and Ireland can qualify for free dining plans when booking eligible Walt Disney World vacation packages for 2027.

That offer has historically been a major draw for overseas travelers, especially since many international guests stay much longer than domestic visitors. A free dining plan during a 10- or 14-night vacation can save families a substantial amount of money.

What’s interesting about all three of these updates is how much Disney continues pushing dining as a centerpiece experience. Years ago, dining plans mainly existed as budgeting tools. Now, restaurants, lounges, seasonal snacks, and signature meals have become some of the most talked-about parts of a Disney vacation.

The parks are still the main attraction, of course, but Disney clearly sees food as one of its biggest selling points heading into the future.
