Today feels like one of those rare Disney World days where crowd patterns completely flip upside down.
Most guests assumed Magic Kingdom would become the center of the chaos during the first major summer push of 2026, but instead, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are stealing all the attention right now.

The reason is pretty obvious.
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opened to regular guests this morning at Hollywood Studios, while Bluey’s Wild World simultaneously debuted at Animal Kingdom as part of Disney’s Cool Kid Summer event lineup.
That combination created massive demand across two parks at the exact same time.
Ironically, that may leave EPCOT and Magic Kingdom as the best places to escape the crowds.
The Muppets Coaster Is Creating Huge Demand
Hollywood Studios was already one of Disney World’s busiest parks before today.
Now add a major ride opening into the mix.
Guests packed Sunset Boulevard early this morning as Disney fans rushed to experience the new Muppets version of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. The attraction has generated nonstop conversation online for months, and opening day crowds reflected that excitement immediately.

Once large crowds form around one attraction at Hollywood Studios, the entire park starts feeling packed.
Slinky Dog Dash fills faster. Rise of the Resistance climbs. Mobile order windows disappear earlier. Even basic walkways become harder to navigate once guests start stacking into tighter areas around Sunset Boulevard and Toy Story Land.
It becomes exhausting quickly.
Animal Kingdom Has Its Own Crowd Issues Right Now
Animal Kingdom may not have the same thrill ride frenzy happening, but Bluey’s Wild World is creating a huge family rush.
Disney knew Bluey would be popular, but seeing how quickly families moved toward Rafiki’s Planet Watch this morning still surprised a lot of guests.
Part of the problem comes from location.

Guests must board the Wildlife Express Train to even reach the experience, creating immediate bottlenecks once large crowds begin forming. Add in the Virtual Queue setup, and families are arriving early trying to secure their spots before availability disappears.
The result is a much busier Animal Kingdom than many people expected.
There is also the reality that Cool Kid Summer is heavily aimed at younger children. Bluey fits that strategy perfectly, which is why families are prioritizing Animal Kingdom right now over other parks.
EPCOT Feels Like the Safe Haven
If your goal is simply enjoying a less stressful Disney day, EPCOT honestly looks like the strongest option this week.
The park handles crowds incredibly well because of how spread out everything feels.
World Showcase naturally absorbs guests throughout the day, and many visitors take a slower pace while eating, shopping, or exploring different pavilions. That creates a completely different atmosphere compared to the nonstop rush happening at Hollywood Studios.

Even the bigger attractions often feel more manageable because the park itself is so large.
Guests can still enjoy rides, grab food, explore festivals, and move around without constantly feeling trapped in giant crowd waves.
Don’t Ignore Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom may also benefit from guests focusing elsewhere today.
Normally, it becomes the automatic choice for families during summer vacations. But Bluey’s Wild World pulled many younger families toward Animal Kingdom, while the Muppets coaster opening attracted thrill seekers to Hollywood Studios.
That changes the normal balance.

Magic Kingdom still gets busy, of course, but the crowds may feel more evenly distributed than expected. With so many attractions spread throughout the park, guests can usually pivot away from heavier traffic areas and still have a strong day.
Sometimes the smartest Disney strategy is avoiding the newest thing for a day or two.
Right now, EPCOT and Magic Kingdom may quietly offer the better overall experience while everybody else races toward the newest openings.
