After Decades, Disneyland Is Changing Parts of Main Street, U.S.A.

The construction walls lining Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Paris Resort just got a significant upgrade, making the months-long Plaza Gardens Restaurant closure a little easier for European Disney Park guests to bear.

On June 3, X user @DLPReport shared photos of newly installed posters on the plywood walls surrounding the closed Plaza Gardens Restaurant at Disneyland Park in Paris, posting on the platform formerly known as Twitter:

🔧 At Disneyland Park, Main Street posters have been added to the Plaza Gardens Restaurant construction walls. The location is closed until next year for a big freshen up.

The posters advertise a mix of real and fictional Main Street, U.S.A. businesses: Casey's Corner, Harrington's Fine China and Porcelains, Disney Clothiers, and Flora's Unique Boutique. The addition brings a layer of in-world storytelling to what would otherwise be a stretch of bare plywood, helping maintain the Victorian atmosphere of Main Street, U.S.A., even while one of its anchor dining locations sits behind scaffolding.

The Plaza Gardens Restaurant building is almost entirely concealed by white scrim-covered scaffolding at this point, with only the rooftop balcony still visible to Disney Park guests walking past. The construction walls run along the length of the closed restaurant, making the new posters a welcome visual improvement for the months ahead.

What's Happening Behind the Walls

Plaza Gardens Restaurant closed in April 2026 for a refurbishment that Disneyland Paris Resort has confirmed will extend into early 2027. Plans include a new interior and exterior color palette, modernized kitchen and dining areas, and full replacement of the flooring, facades, and roofing. The goal, according to the European Disney destination, is to elevate the overall dining experience while preserving the Victorian character that has defined the restaurant for decades.

No exact reopening date for Plaza Gardens Restaurant beyond “early 2027” has been announced. In the meantime, the newly decorated construction walls will have to serve as the face of that stretch of Main Street, U.S.A., for the foreseeable future.
