“it's a small world” went dark for the better part of a day at Magic Kingdom Park on Saturday, and the classic Fantasyland ride wasn't alone.
Nine Hours of Downtime for “it's a small world”

June 6 started normally enough at Magic Kingdom Park. “it's a small world” opened with the rest of the park at 9:00 a.m., drawing a modest five-minute posted wait that climbed to ten minutes by mid-morning. Then, at 11:00 a.m., the Fantasyland boat ride went down.
The My Disney Experience app listed the attraction as “temporarily closed” until 8:00 p.m., when it finally came back online. The ride operated normally from that point through Magic Kingdom Park's 11:00 p.m. closing time, but guests who visited during the day lost access to the Happiest Cruise on Earth for approximately nine hours.

“it's a small world” Wasn't the Only Casualty

The extended “it's a small world” closure was part of a broader wave of attraction shutdowns that swept through Magic Kingdom Park during the early afternoon on Saturday. At least five other rides — including The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train — all went down simultaneously, a pattern that typically points to a park-wide power issue or technical failure of some kind.

Walt Disney World Resort did not confirm any widespread technical issues at Magic Kingdom Park on June 6. The other affected attractions recovered and reopened well before “it's a small world” did, suggesting the Fantasyland ride was dealing with an additional issue on top of whatever caused the broader afternoon outage.
As of the time of publication on June 7, “it's a small world” was operating normally at Magic Kingdom Park.
