Disney World Guest Captures the Moment a Tree Limb Fell Onto Their Ride

A peaceful boat ride through EPCOT took an unexpected turn last week when something large came crashing down from above. One guest riding Living with the Land happened to have their camera rolling at exactly the right moment.

Instagram user @eartoearmagic was aboard Living with the Land at EPCOT when a branch from one of the attraction's artificial trees on the left side of the set appeared to break free and plunge into the water beside the boat. The Central Florida Disney Park guest shared the video on Instagram:

We were just enjoying a peaceful ride through Living With The Land in EPCOT … when the rainforest decided to branch out. 🌿😳

Right before our eyes, a tree limb took the leaf of faith and splashed down into the water! Guess it decided it was time to turn over a new leaf.

Looks like that branch was stumped with just hanging around and wanted to log in some swim time instead! 🌳💦

The video captures the moment the debris hit the water during the opening natural scenes of the attraction — the section guests travel through before entering the greenhouse and farming areas. It narrowly missed the boat and its passengers, and Living with the Land continued operating without any apparent interruption following the incident.

Walt Disney World Resort made no public statement about what happened.

What Actually Fell

The exact nature of the debris isn't definitively confirmed from the footage, but the visual evidence strongly suggests it was an artificial tree branch from the attraction's set pieces — the kind of themed element that lines the shores of the ride's early scenes to create the illusion of a natural environment. Whether the branch detached due to age, wear, or some other mechanical issue hasn't been explained.

Living with the Land is currently operating on its normal schedule at EPCOT.
