Guests walking through EPCOT’s France Pavilion may notice that one longtime location is no longer welcoming visitors inside. La Signature, the boutique known for French fragrances and beauty products, has officially closed for refurbishment.
For longtime EPCOT fans, this is not just another temporary closure. The current version of La Signature opened on July 26, 2007, after Disney remodeled the location as a Haute Perfumery. That means the shop has operated in its current form for nearly 19 years, giving guests a more upscale retail experience inside one of World Showcase’s most beloved pavilions.

A Different Kind of EPCOT Shopping Stop
La Signature has never been the loudest or flashiest location in EPCOT, but that is part of what made it stand out. While many World Showcase shops focus on souvenirs, apparel, snacks, or pavilion-themed gifts, La Signature offered something more specific.
The shop became known for French cosmetics, fragrances, and beauty products, including a large selection from Guerlain. Guests could browse perfumes, skincare items, makeup, and other luxury products in a space that felt more like a boutique than a standard theme park store.
For some visitors, it was a planned shopping stop. For others, it was a pleasant discovery while strolling through the France Pavilion. Either way, La Signature gave the area another layer of authenticity and helped the pavilion feel less like a single attraction stop and more like a small Parisian district.
The Closure Is Now Underway
La Signature closed on June 29 to begin its refurbishment. Guests who have passed by the shop since then have found the doors closed and the windows blacked out.
That window treatment is worth noting. Sometimes Disney can complete minor work without hiding the interior from view. In this case, the covered windows suggest that Disney may be doing more than a light touch-up, though the company has not confirmed the full scope of the project.
As of now, Disney has not announced a specific reopening date. The location is expected to return later in 2026, but guests planning summer or early fall EPCOT trips should not count on visiting La Signature unless Disney updates the timeline.
What Guests Can Do During the Refurbishment
The closure does not mean every product from La Signature has disappeared from the France Pavilion.
Some Guerlain merchandise has been temporarily moved to Plume et Palette, another nearby shop in the pavilion. That should help guests who were hoping to shop for fragrance or beauty products during their visit, though the selection may not match what La Signature normally offers.
That temporary move is important because La Signature served a very specific audience. It was not just a place to grab a T-shirt or magnet before leaving the park. Many guests visited because they wanted a particular brand, product, or boutique-style shopping experience.
For now, Plume et Palette will carry part of that role while Disney works behind the scenes.

Why This Closure Matters
On paper, this is a shop refurbishment. In practice, it feels a little bigger because of the history attached to the location.
EPCOT has changed dramatically over the last several years. New attractions, updated neighborhoods, festival growth, and major construction projects have reshaped how guests move through the park. Even World Showcase, which often feels more timeless than the front half of EPCOT, has continued to evolve.
The France Pavilion has seen some of the biggest changes. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure brought a major expansion to the pavilion and added a new family-friendly ride inspired by Ratatouille (2007). That addition gave the pavilion more energy and made it a bigger destination for families who might have previously passed through mainly for food, drinks, or atmosphere.
La Signature belongs to the older layer of the pavilion. It represents the quieter, more refined side of World Showcase: the side built around culture, detail, and discovery. Losing access to it, even temporarily, changes the rhythm of that area.
What Comes Next for La Signature
Disney has not revealed whether La Signature will return with the same layout, a refreshed design, new merchandise, or a more noticeable transformation. Until more details arrive, fans can only watch the construction walls and wait for the windows to clear.
Still, a refurbishment after nearly 19 years makes sense. Retail spaces take a beating in theme parks, especially in a high-traffic destination like EPCOT. Lighting, fixtures, flooring, counters, and displays all need attention eventually.
The big question is whether Disney will preserve the boutique’s elegant identity or use this project to rethink the space more aggressively.
For now, La Signature remains closed, and the France Pavilion has one less stop for guests to explore. When it reopens later in 2026, EPCOT fans will be watching closely to see what Disney has changed after nearly two decades.
