A visit to Toy Story Land now comes with something new for Disney and Pixar fans. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie have officially begun greeting guests in updated costumes inspired by Toy Story 5 (2026), marking the latest way Disney has connected its theme parks with one of its biggest movie franchises.

Instead of giving the characters completely new wardrobes, Disney focused on adding meaningful accessories that continue the story audiences have followed across multiple films.
Woody now wears a colorful poncho crafted from a human bandanna, giving the cowboy a fresh appearance while preserving the classic look that has made him one of Pixar's most recognizable characters. Jessie has also received an update that longtime fans will appreciate. She now proudly wears the sheriff badge Woody entrusted to her at the end of Toy Story 4 (2019), recognizing the important role she now holds within the group.
Buzz Lightyear also joins the makeover with a shiny star sticker attached to the front of his famous Space Ranger uniform. While simple, the addition reflects Disney's attention to even the smallest details when bringing the newest film into the parks.
The character locations haven't changed. Woody and Jessie continue meeting guests together near Toy Story Mania, while Buzz remains available for photos closer to the entrance of Toy Story Land.

These updated appearances aren't entirely new to Disney Parks. Disneyland Resort guests first saw the refreshed costumes at Disney California Adventure earlier this summer. Following the release of Toy Story 5 (2026), Walt Disney World has now introduced the same designs at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Disney frequently updates entertainment offerings to match current films, and character costumes are often one of the quickest ways to make those connections. Instead of waiting years for a new attraction, guests can immediately experience small touches that reflect the newest adventures of their favorite characters.
The changes also create an interesting balance between Toy Story Land and the movie series itself. The land continues to represent Andy's backyard, where guests shrink down to toy size while exploring giant games and playsets. Yet the latest films take place years after Andy passed his toys to Bonnie.

Rather than ignoring the newer stories, Disney has chosen to let Woody, Buzz, and Jessie reflect the latest point in the timeline while leaving the land's overall theme untouched. It's an approach that satisfies longtime fans without requiring major changes to one of Disney's most popular themed lands.
For many visitors, these refreshed costumes will simply make for fun vacation photos. For dedicated Pixar fans, however, they're another example of Disney paying attention to the details that keep beloved characters feeling current. As guests continue flocking to Toy Story Land, the updated looks provide one more reason to stop and say hello to Woody, Buzz, and Jessie after their newest adventure reached theaters.
