For the third time in a single week, the National Weather Service has issued a formal temperature warning covering Walt Disney World Resort.
An Extreme Heat Advisory Through 8:00 p.m.
The Melbourne, Florida, office of the National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Advisory on July 29, running from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and covering Orange, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, and northern Brevard counties. Every Walt Disney World Resort destination sits within the advisory zone, including Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney Springs, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and all onsite resort hotels. Universal Orlando Resort's theme parks, Volcano Bay, and its hotel properties fall under the same advisory.
Actual temperatures are expected to be in the low-to-mid 90s on Wednesday, but the heat index — which accounts for Central Florida's oppressive humidity — is forecast to reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. At that level, the risk of heat stroke and other serious heat-related medical emergencies for guests spending extended time outdoors is significant.

Three Advisories in One Week
Wednesday's alert is the third government-issued heat warning in the Walt Disney World Resort area this week — a pattern that reflects a summer of unusually persistent high temperatures across Central Florida. Some relief is on the horizon: the National Weather Service expects temperatures to begin dropping on Thursday, though the cooler conditions will arrive alongside increased rain and showers, with the possibility of a few strong storms extending through the end of the week.
What to Do If You're at the Parks Today
Drink water consistently — not just when you're thirsty. Reapply sun protection throughout the day. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and limit time in direct sunlight whenever possible, making use of air-conditioned attractions, restaurants, and shops during the hottest afternoon hours.
Anyone traveling with older guests or individuals at elevated risk from heat exposure should check in frequently. Children and pets should never be left in parked vehicles under any circumstances. Guests at Walt Disney World Resort who begin experiencing symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion — dizziness, nausea, confusion, or a rapid heartbeat — should proceed to the nearest First Aid location immediately.
