That's exactly why Lucasfilm's latest move has caught fans completely off guard.
The newly released trailer for Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi swaps sweeping orchestral music for Paramore's “Let the Flames Begin,” marking one of the boldest musical choices the franchise has ever made in an official trailer.
While Star Wars has embraced different storytelling styles over the years, a contemporary rock track accompanying official footage is something fans simply weren't expecting.

The choice arguably makes perfect sense given the project itself.
Originally released as one of the standout episodes in Star Wars: Visions (2021), The Ninth Jedi quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its stunning animation, original mythology, and compelling new protagonist, Lah Kara.
Following the Volume 3 continuation, “Child of Hope,” Lucasfilm has now expanded the story into a full Disney+ series, following Lah Kara as she joins the surviving remnants of the Jedi Order in a distant future long after the sequel trilogy.
Visions has always been Lucasfilm's experimental playground.
Because Star Wars: Visions exists outside official canon, creators have far more freedom to push the franchise in unexpected directions. Whether that's distinctive animation styles, entirely original worlds, or now even the music accompanying its trailers, Visions has consistently become the place where Lucasfilm is willing to take creative risks.
Fans have embraced the decision almost immediately.
“A Paramore song in an official Star Wars trailer? We live in the best timeline,” one viewer wrote beneath the video on YouTube.
“Super super hyped…. AND SUDDENLY PARAMORE? Might end up my favorite series,” another added.
Some have commented on both the official Star Wars trailer and Paramore's official music video with similar reactions.
Whether the Paramore song actually appears in the series itself remains to be seen, but one thing is already clear: Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi is continuing the tradition of doing what no other corner of the galaxy far, far away can.
