Universal Orlando Resort isn't waiting long to build upon the experience at Epic Universe.
The theme park opened in May 2025 with five distinct worlds, each offering its own attractions, characters, restaurants, and atmosphere. Now, a little more than a year later, Universal has confirmed seasonal expansions for two of the park's most recognizable destinations.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk are both joining Epic Universe's growing holiday celebration for the first time.
And the changes begin this November.
A Bigger Second Christmas for Epic Universe
Epic Universe welcomed its first Christmas season only months after opening.
Celestial Park became the centerpiece of those festivities, with Universal creating a cosmic winter wonderland designed specifically for the world. That transformation will return for the 2026 season with twinkling trees and special holiday fountain displays at the Cosmos Fountain.
This year, however, the festivities are moving deeper into the park.
Universal Orlando's holiday celebration runs from November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027, and two more Epic Universe worlds are getting involved.
Christmas Comes to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
Guests have seen SUPER NINTENDO WORLD packed with coins, Question Blocks, Piranha Plants, familiar characters, and the unmistakable colors of the Mushroom Kingdom.
They haven't seen it decorated for Christmas.
That changes in 2026.
Universal has confirmed that special holiday décor will arrive throughout SUPER NINTENDO WORLD for the first time. Exactly what that means remains a surprise, as Universal hasn't revealed the specific decorations yet.
That mystery could make the transformation especially interesting.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD doesn't resemble a traditional theme park land, so Universal has plenty of opportunities to weave Christmas into its video game-inspired environment in unexpected ways.
More details are expected as the holiday season gets closer.
Isle of Berk Celebrates Snoggletog
The second change takes guests into the world of How to Train Your Dragon.
Universal will bring holiday decorations to Isle of Berk for the first time while incorporating Snoggletog, the winter celebration from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.
That connection could allow the holiday makeover to feel like a natural extension of the land.
Isle of Berk already surrounds guests with Viking buildings, dragons, ships, and other details that establish the setting. Bringing Snoggletog into that environment gives Universal existing material to draw from while creating its first seasonal transformation.
For now, Universal has only confirmed the holiday décor. The resort hasn't announced special Snoggletog entertainment, food, character costumes, or other additions.
Even without those extras, Epic Universe's second Christmas is shaping up to be considerably larger than its first.
Celestial Park's cosmic celebration is returning, while SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Isle of Berk are getting holiday transformations of their own.
Just over a year after Epic Universe opened its gates, Universal is already giving returning guests two new versions of worlds they've come to know.
