EPCOT just opened bookings for a fireworks dinner where you never leave the table.
Some context.
Look, almost every EPCOT fireworks package has the same problem. You eat, pay a premium, then get up and go stand somewhere else to actually see the show.
Luminous: The Symphony of Us plays over World Showcase Lagoon. The whole thing is built around the water. No open sightline, no view. So a restaurant tucked away from the lagoon can sell you a dinner and a viewing spot, but those end up being two different things happening in two different places.
This one is not that.
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya over in the Japan Pavilion is now taking reservations for a fireworks dining package. And Japan is sitting on prime real estate. Eastern edge of the promenade, elevated, open water right in front of it.
You eat with World Showcase Lagoon views, and you watch Luminous from the experience.
What You Get
Curated menu, not à la carte.
An appetizer. Traditional sashimi. An extensive sushi selection. Plus exclusive desserts and beverages you cannot get any other way.
That last part actually matters. You are not just paying a markup on food that is already on the regular menu.
How the Night Runs
Luminous goes off at 9 p.m.
Check-in lands 60 minutes ahead of the show, so figure 8 p.m. The dining experience then carries straight through the fireworks.
Now, the fine print, and read it twice. On rare occasions, the show can be rescheduled or canceled, and it is not guaranteed as part of the package.
Standard language across every fireworks package on the property. Still worth sitting with before you drop this kind of money on one specific night.
The Damage
- Ages 10 and up: $120 plus tax and gratuity. $149.50 total.
- Ages 3 to 9: $60 plus tax and gratuity. $74.70 total.
Give Disney credit here. They are publishing the all-in number instead of making you do the math at the register. $149.50 is what actually hits the card.
For perspective, Shiki-Sai's normal dinner entrées fall within Disney's $15 to $34.99 per-adult bracket. This sits considerably north of that.
Two adults, two kids? Roughly $448 before you buy a single thing else.
Nobody is pretending this is a value play.
Booking
Open now, online through the Walt Disney World dining site.
Usual cancellation and modification policies apply. Your card gets hit with a per-person fee if you no-show or cancel late. Specifics come up during booking and again in your confirmation email.
Valid EPCOT admission required. Theme park reservations may be required based on ticket type. And a dining reservation does not get you through the gate.
Wait, What Is Shiki-Sai
Fair question if you have not been recently.
Not new. Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya took over the Tokyo Dining space in the Japan pavilion back in 2023.
Casual a la carte sushi bar and grill built around Japan's seasons and festivals, with sushi made behind the counter in full view.
Regular menu goes izakaya-style. Skewers, tempura, sushi rolls, and okonomiyaki. There is also seasonal programming tied to Japanese festivals, with a cultural representative from Japan walking guests through it. Tanabata in the summer, moon-viewing dumplings come in autumn.
Standard hours are lunch 12 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. and dinner 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Why People Will Actually Book This
Japan has always been one of the better Luminous viewing spots, which is exactly why the promenade there packs out well before 9 p.m.
This package deletes the worst hour of the night. No staking a rail spot at eight and guarding it like a fortress.
Is not standing worth $149.50? Depends entirely on you.
But Food & Wine just kicked off, and that promenade is about to get a whole lot worse. Plenty of people are going to look at that number and say yes without blinking.
