A regular ticket to Epic Universe can buy guests an entire day inside Universal Orlando's newest theme park. But when nighttime arrives, another group of visitors is getting an experience that daytime guests can't stick around to enjoy.
Universal Orlando Resort is expanding a limited-capacity option that keeps select guests inside Epic Universe after the normal operating day ends.
It costs nearly as much as some regular one-day tickets despite offering fewer total hours.
Still, one night has already sold out, and Universal has responded by adding more opportunities for guests to experience the park after dark.
Epic Universe Becomes a Different Park at Night
Epic Universe opened in May 2025 with five worlds that dramatically expanded Universal Orlando Resort.
Celestial Park sits at the center, connecting guests to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
Visitors have plenty to keep them busy.
Stardust Racers, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Mine-Cart Madness, and Hiccup's Wing Gliders are among the park's major attractions.
That lineup can easily turn Epic Universe into an all-day destination.
However, staying until evening offers another experience. Celestial Park's fountains and lighting become especially noticeable after sunset, giving guests another reason to remain inside as long as possible.
Universal is now putting an even greater focus on those nighttime hours with a separate ticket.
A Smaller Group Gets Epic Universe After Hours
Universal Nights at Epic Universe offers a limited number of ticket holders access to the park after regular operations end.
Event guests don't have to wait until the normal day ends to enter. Their tickets allow admission beginning at 7 p.m., allowing them to watch Universal Celestial Goodnight.
The exclusive portion then runs from 9 p.m. until midnight.
During those three hours, Universal Nights ticket holders have access to attractions and experiences, while regular daytime visitors remain outside.
Limited capacity could make that particularly attractive for guests hoping to experience popular attractions with smaller crowds.
The ticket also comes with more than park access.
Guests receive unlimited berry-flavored Celestial Popcorn and crispy Kimchi Bao in Celestial Park. Universal provides a cup for refills at Coca-Cola Freestyle locations, and character meet-and-greets are available throughout the evening.
Those additions help separate Universal Nights from a traditional nighttime visit.
And guests are already buying in.
One Night Sells Out as Universal Expands the Event
Universal initially scheduled Universal Nights for October 3 and October 17.
That schedule has now grown considerably.
Universal added October 24, November 6, and November 20, increasing the event from two nights to five.
October 17 has already sold out. The other four dates remain available, with admission priced at $179.99 per person, plus tax.
Universal announced:
“Additional nights added for Universal Nights!
Enjoy limited capacity and the thrills of all five amazing worlds during Universal Nights at Epic Universe, a new after-hours event October 3, 17, 24 and Nov. 6, 20. Tickets are on sale now”
Adding three dates after one sold out allows more guests to purchase the premium nighttime experience.
It also creates an interesting comparison with regular Epic Universe admission.
Regular Guests Get More Hours for a Similar Price
A standard Epic Universe operating day typically runs from approximately 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., providing around 10 hours of park access.
Regular one-day tickets use date-based pricing and can range from approximately $139.99 to $199.
Universal Nights costs nearly $180 before tax.
Guests can enter at 7 p.m. and stay through midnight, meaning their maximum time inside Epic Universe is about five hours. Only three of those hours fall within the exclusive event period.
Purely based on time, regular admission can offer considerably more for roughly the same price.
But that's not necessarily what Universal Nights is selling.
The appeal comes from experiencing Epic Universe with limited capacity once regular guests have left. Included food, drinks, character encounters, and nighttime access add additional value.
Guests therefore have to decide what matters more: more total hours or fewer hours with exclusive benefits.
Experiencing Epic Universe at Night Now Costs Extra
Regular visitors can still spend a full day exploring Epic Universe, and depending on operating hours, they may experience part of the park after sunset.
They just won't be able to stay for the exclusive portion of Universal Nights without purchasing another ticket.
For some visitors, paying around $180 for five hours may be difficult to justify when a regular ticket can provide roughly twice as much park time.
Others may gladly trade those additional hours for limited capacity and an experience that continues after regular guests head toward the exits.
Universal now has evidence that at least some visitors see the appeal.
One Universal Nights date is already sold out, three more have been added, and Epic Universe's nighttime hours have become another premium experience guests can choose to buy.
