After Nearly a Decade, Disney Finally Extends One of EPCOT’s Best Events

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation around EPCOT’s festivals can be tricky.

Food & Wine stretches across a sizable portion of the calendar, while Flower & Garden gives spring visitors plenty of opportunities to experience EPCOT in full bloom.

Since arriving in 2017, the winter festival has offered guests a colorful combination of art, entertainment, food, and interactive experiences. The catch has always been how quickly it disappears.

For 2027, Disney is finally giving guests something they have wanted for years: more time.

Disney Adds Another Week to Festival of the Arts

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will officially return January 15, 2027, and continue through March 1, 2027.

Disney's newly announced schedule gives the event an additional week.

For a festival that already had a relatively short run, the extension opens another window for families, annual passholders, and other guests who want to visit.

And there is plenty packed into those weeks.

Festival of the Arts celebrates three different areas: visual, performing, and culinary arts.

Guests can sample dishes from food studios around World Showcase before exploring artwork and entertainment throughout EPCOT. Chalk artists transform park walkways, while oversized photo opportunities allow guests to step into recreations of famous artwork.

The interactive offerings have become a major part of the event as well.

Guests can contribute to a paint-by-number mural, participate in a Figment scavenger hunt, and browse festival-specific merchandise.

Another popular offering is coming back, too. Disney has confirmed the Lorcana Collection Quest will return for the 2027 festival.

Spring Arrives at EPCOT Just Days Later

Disney isn't creating much downtime between its first two EPCOT festivals of 2027.

Festival of the Arts ends March 1. Then, on March 10, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival begins.

Flower & Garden will continue through May 31, 2027, bringing its familiar mix of topiaries, seasonal flavors, entertainment, and family-friendly activities back to the park.

That leaves only a short break between the two events.

Disney has increasingly made festivals a defining piece of the EPCOT experience, but Festival of the Arts has always felt especially limited because of its shorter schedule.

Now, nearly a decade after the event first arrived, Disney is giving it room to grow.

An extra week isn't a complete transformation, but for fans who never wanted Festival of the Arts to disappear quite so quickly, it could be one of EPCOT’s best changes for 2027.
