Walt Disney World Resort is one of Florida’s biggest attractions, welcoming tens of millions of guests every year to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But another, very different Disney World could soon exist in the Sunshine State — at least virtually.

The idea is tied to Grand Theft Auto VI, which has been attracting even more attention in recent weeks as Rockstar Games ramps up its marketing campaign ahead of the game’s November 19 release.
On August 27, Netflix premiered GTA VI: An Extended Look, giving fans an unprecedented 26-minute glimpse at the upcoming game. The presentation focused heavily on protagonists Jason and Lucia, their relationship, and the sprawling fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s satirical take on Florida.
That was followed by a wave of new details and reveals from outlets including IGN, giving fans even more to dissect as they attempt to uncover everything hidden throughout the game’s enormous world.

And that brings us back to Disney World.
One of the more intriguing GTA VI rumors concerns a supposed theme park located in North Leonida. Fans have speculated for some time that Rockstar could be creating a parody of Walt Disney World, with references to a location reportedly called “Fairyland Forest.”
If true, the attraction would fit perfectly with the Grand Theft Auto franchise’s long history of parodying real-world brands and American culture. However, Rockstar Games has not confirmed a Disney World parody, or even exactly what the rumored location represents.
There would also be an obvious challenge. A Disney-inspired attraction in GTA VI would exist in a game built around crime, violence, police chases, and adult themes. Rockstar would therefore need to tread carefully if it wanted to create a recognizable Disney World-style setting without pushing the parody too far.
Still, the possibility is fascinating. With GTA VI arriving on November 19, fans may soon discover that North Leonida has its own answer to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If this does turn out to be the case, it's highly unlikely to impact Disney World.
As for guest attendance, though, many will undoubtedly be choosing to stay at home to play the highly anticipated game when it arrives.
