Disney’s Hollywood Studios has another familiar face joining its animation-focused overhaul.
Baymax is back in the spotlight at Walt Disney World just as one of the park’s biggest recent projects finishes welcoming the public. The timing puts the Big Hero 6 (2014) favorite right in the middle of a major moment for Hollywood Studios.
Magic of Disney Animation officially opened on September 14, 2026, following months of changes around the surrounding Walt Disney Studios Lot. Several pieces arrived earlier, but the newest debut brings the transformation together.
And now Baymax has become part of the story.
Baymax Makes His Latest Disney World Appearance
The news centers around the Baymax Sipper, which is now available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This version previously appeared at San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure, debuting there in 2023. Three years later, Disney has brought the design to Florida as part of the activity surrounding its reimagined animation area.
Baymax appears with his charging station, which also serves as a functional drink container.
Guests receive the sipper with “Ani-Made,” a specialty beverage made with Minute Maid premium lemonade, Dole Pineapple Juice, and watermelon syrup.
Disney is limiting purchases to two sippers per person in each transaction.
Its arrival coincides with a much larger reason for Disney fans to revisit this corner of Hollywood Studios.
A Major Piece Finally Welcomes Guests
September 14 marked the official opening of Magic of Disney Animation, adding several experiences to an area Disney had already been transforming.
Drawn to Wonderland is among the new offerings. Inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951), the indoor play area offers younger visitors a space to explore while drawing on Disney’s animation history.
Olaf Draws! brings another familiar modern character into the experience.
Instead of focusing everything on a single franchise, Disney can draw on decades of animated stories in the new area.
But guests didn't have to wait until September to start seeing the results of the larger overhaul.
This Transformation Started Months Ago
The surrounding Walt Disney Studios Lot had already begun welcoming visitors before Magic of Disney Animation officially joined the lineup.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! was one of the earlier additions, bringing Disney Junior characters together for a show aimed largely at younger guests.
Outside, Disney incorporated animated animal statues and character encounters throughout the area. Guests can encounter familiar Disney faces while exploring, creating interactions that don't always fit the traditional queue-based meet-and-greet format.
Together, those additions have given this section of Hollywood Studios a broader focus on Disney animation.
That approach differs from areas built heavily around individual franchises. Here, Disney has more freedom to feature characters who may not have an entire land or permanent attraction.
Baymax falls neatly into that category at Walt Disney World.
Baymax Hasn't Completely Disappeared From Florida
Baymax remains relatively uncommon at Disney World, but he hasn't been completely absent.
His presence has mostly involved merchandise in recent years, although Disney has occasionally brought the character out for special appearances. Most recently, Baymax joined a huge group of iconic characters for a photo celebrating Magic of Disney Animation.
There are currently no announced plans for a permanent Baymax attraction at Walt Disney World.
Still, Disney has already shown that the character can carry his own theme park experience elsewhere.
Tokyo Disneyland operates The Happy Ride with Baymax, giving the Big Hero 6 (2014) character a full attraction. That doesn't mean Disney intends to duplicate the concept in Florida, but it shows what Imagineering has already done with him.
Another Disney Park Offers an Intriguing Possibility
Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom has space Disney could potentially reconsider someday.
The former Stitch’s Great Escape location is one example. The attraction disappeared years ago, leaving fans wondering what Disney might eventually do with parts of that space.
Baymax could theoretically fit Tomorrowland, especially given the technology-driven world of Big Hero 6 (2014).
None of that represents an announced Disney project. Disney has not confirmed a Baymax attraction for Magic Kingdom or plans to bring The Happy Ride with Baymax to Florida.
For now, it is simply an interesting possibility.
Baymax Joins a Much Larger Disney Moment
Baymax's latest addition may be relatively small, but the timing gives it more significance.
Magic of Disney Animation is officially open, the Walt Disney Studios Lot has undergone a major transformation, and Disney has created another place where animated characters from different generations can share the spotlight.
Whether Baymax's role at Walt Disney World ever grows beyond occasional appearances and merchandise remains unknown. But with the character getting renewed attention at Hollywood Studios, Big Hero 6 (2014) fans have another reason to watch what Disney does next.
