Disney World vacations could taste a little different in 2027.
Six new restaurants are scheduled to debut as Disney continues expanding its theme parks and resort lineup. Instead of concentrating all six additions in one location, Disney is spreading them across three major projects.
Disney's Animal Kingdom will receive a huge new quick-service location. Disney's Hollywood Studios will add two restaurants connected to Monstropolis. Meanwhile, the new Lakeshore Lodge will arrive with three places to eat of its own.
Here's what's on the way.
The Hacienda Joins Disney's Animal Kingdom
Tropical Americas is replacing the former DinoLand U.S.A. area at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and food will be an important piece of the new land.
The Hacienda will open in Pueblo Esperanza as a quick-service restaurant.
Disney has already provided one detail that shows just how significant this location could become: The Hacienda is expected to rank among the largest quick-service restaurants anywhere at Walt Disney World.
Its exact menu hasn't been announced yet.
The restaurant will join a land featuring Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos. With those attractions expected to bring plenty of guests into the area, having a large dining location nearby should prove useful.
Monsters Are Taking Over the Menu
Disney's Hollywood Studios will take a very different approach.
Monstropolis will introduce Harryhausen's Restaurant, a dining location inspired by the restaurant featured in Monsters, Inc. (2001).
Disney says the menu will take inspiration from Japanese cuisine and differ from anything currently available elsewhere at Walt Disney World.
There's also a major character component planned for the restaurant. A huge Sushi Chef Audio-Animatronic inspired by the movie will become part of the experience.
Harryhausen's won't be the only place to eat in Monstropolis.
Archie's Scare Pig Pizza is taking over the former PizzeRizzo space. The restaurant gets its name from Archie, a six-legged scare pig connected to Fear Tech.
That gives guests two noticeably different choices within the new land: a heavily themed restaurant at Harryhausen's and a quick-service pizza location for those who want a faster meal.
Lakeshore Lodge Gets Its Own Dining Lineup
Three more restaurants will arrive with Lakeshore Lodge in 2027.
Moonglade will be the property's table-service restaurant. Disney says its dishes will feature seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, while large floor-to-ceiling windows will connect the dining room with the surrounding natural scenery.
For quicker meals, guests can head to Bay Lake Provisions.
The marketplace-style location will serve all three major meals, making it an option for breakfast before heading to the parks or dinner after returning to the resort. An open kitchen will form part of the atmosphere, while Disney-inspired woodland creatures will appear throughout the restaurant.
The final addition is Paint Out Point Bar & Grill.
Located near Lakeshore Lagoon, the zero-entry pool within the resort's Wetlands recreation area, Paint Out Point will offer specialty beverages and food designed for sharing.
Disney Dining Is Changing Along With the Parks
These six restaurants represent several different sides of the Disney dining experience.
Some guests may be most interested in seeing Harryhausen's brought to life from Monsters, Inc. (2001). Others may appreciate having a massive new quick-service option at Animal Kingdom or three completely new restaurants to try at Lakeshore Lodge.
Either way, 2027 is becoming much more than a year of new rides.
Between Pueblo Esperanza, Monstropolis, and Lakeshore Lodge, Disney is creating new places to explore, stay, and eat. For guests who make dining a major part of their Disney World vacations, there will be six more locations to add to the list.
