Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one place where guests never quite know what the wildlife will do next.
Sometimes a giraffe wanders across the road and temporarily brings a safari vehicle to a stop. Other times, guests catch one eating or standing close enough for an incredible photograph.
And apparently, every once in a while, a giraffe decides Disney's safari equipment looks delicious.
A TikTok from Savor the Savanna captures one of those unexpected encounters as a giraffe gets extremely close to the group's vehicle. But instead of paying much attention to the guests, the animal becomes fascinated with the lights mounted along the top of the truck.
Then it starts putting them in its mouth.
Disney World Giraffe Gets Curious
TikTok user Will Gray shared the encounter from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, joking that the giraffe got “a little too curious.”
That's a pretty accurate description.
The giraffe can be seen reaching toward the vehicle and investigating the equipment above it. With the lights easily within reach, the animal begins nibbling on them.

There isn't much Disney could do to script a better memory for guests paying for an up-close wildlife experience.
Giraffes are already among the animals guests regularly hope to see while visiting Animal Kingdom. Seeing one this close is another experience entirely.
Instead of watching the giraffe from across the savanna, these guests had one practically inspecting their ride.
And despite the giraffe's unusual choice of snack, the TikTok creator came away impressed. Gray said Savor the Savanna was “worth it.”
What Guests Get With Savor the Savanna
Savor the Savanna offers more than the standard safari experience available to regular Animal Kingdom guests.
Disney describes the experience as a privately guided journey through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. Guests travel through the savanna aboard a rugged safari vehicle while learning more about the animals living there.
The tour also provides access to a private viewing area.
While there, guests can enjoy African-inspired food and beverages overlooking the savanna. Regional beer and wine are also available for guests who are at least 21.
The premium experience comes with a premium price.
Disney currently lists Savor the Savanna between $199 and $209 per person before tax. Animal Kingdom admission isn't included, meaning guests will need valid park admission in addition to purchasing the tour.
Participants must also be at least eight years old. Anyone younger than 18 needs to participate alongside an adult.
A Disney Experience That Can't Be Completely Controlled
Perhaps the best part about experiences involving Animal Kingdom's wildlife is that Disney can't determine exactly what will happen.
Disney can create the route, operate the vehicle and provide knowledgeable guides. It can carefully care for the animals and design spaces where guests can observe them.
But it can't tell a giraffe exactly where to stand for the perfect vacation video.
That creates opportunities for moments guests couldn't possibly add to their vacation itinerary.
A giraffe approaching a vehicle is already exciting. Watching it become fascinated by the truck's lights takes things to another level.
Most guests will leave Animal Kingdom with photos and videos of the wildlife they saw during their visit. This particular group gets to go home with a much stranger story.
Their giraffe didn't simply pose for the camera.
It apparently tried to eat part of their ride.
For a tour designed to give guests a more intimate look at Animal Kingdom's wildlife, it would be difficult to get much more intimate than that.
