Everybody spent this morning talking about the Annual Pass price increase at Disney World.
Incredi-Pass to $1,749. Up $120. Up 7.4 percent.
Meanwhile, Disney quietly raised hundreds of food prices across all four parks, every resort hotel, and Disney Springs. Same day.
And the worst increase on that entire list landed on a children's meal.
Some context.
Harambe Market at Animal Kingdom took the kids' cheeseburger from $7.49 to $9.49.
That is two dollars on a kid's meal. Roughly 27 percent.
Steepest percentage increase anywhere today. Nearly four times what the Annual Pass went up.
Here Is the Comparison That Should Bother You
Kid's cheeseburger: up about 27 percent.
Churro at Auntie Gravity's, $5.99 to $7.49: up 25 percent.
Hollywood Brown Derby filet mignon, $56 to $59: up about 5 percent.
The cheap stuff got hammered. The expensive stuff barely moved.
Everything Else That Went Up on Snacks and Drinks at Disney World
- Fountain beverages: $4.79 to $4.99
- Popcorn: $5.99 to $6.29
- Popcorn bucket refill: $2.49 to $2.79
- Chips: $3.29 to $3.49
- Orange juice: $5.29 to $5.59
- Chocolate milk: $4.49 to $4.79
- Joffrey's regular coffee: $5.19 to $5.29
Starbucks did not escape. Cold Brew $4.95 to $5.45. Tea and Refreshment $4.85 to $5.05. Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew $5.45 to $5.65. Caramel Macchiato $6.25 to $6.45.
One weird one. DOLE Whip is listed at $5.99, then $5.79, which is a decrease. That is almost definitely a typo, because Disney cutting the price of its single most popular snack on price increase day would be a genuinely shocking act of mercy.

- Sci-Fi Dine-In onion rings, $11 to $13: about 18 percent
- Jock's Old Fashioned, $19.50 to $22: about 13 percent

Okay, So What Do You Actually Do
Buy the refillable resort mug. At $4.99 per fountain drink, that $22.99 mug now pays for itself in under five refills. Staying four nights or more, and does anybody drink soda or coffee? Easy call.
Drop a character meal before you drop anything else. The biggest single line item on the trip, and swapping one for quick service, is the cut nobody in your party will actually notice.
Budget by the day, not by the item. Nothing here is individually outrageous. Fifty cents, a dollar. Multiply by seven days and four people, and that is where your budget quietly dies.
What Disney World Made Sure Not to Touch
Cheapest one-day ticket: still $119 at Animal Kingdom.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass: unchanged.
Those are the two numbers Disney can point to when someone says the parks are unaffordable. Everything above them moved.
