Tips for Visiting Disney World in the Winter Months

Enjoy the Weather

Most other places have to endure snow and ice storms in the winter, but not so in Orlando. Here, the weather does cool down compared to other parts of the year, but remains a balmy 73°F on average during the day. Not a bad way to escape Old Man Winter's clutches for a while, huh?

Mulled Wine

Hot Foods/Beverages

There's nothing better on a chilly evening than a plate of comfort food or a hot beverage to warm you up from the inside. Of course there's always a hot latte or something similar from Starbucks, but there are also special treats like glühwein (housemade mulled wine served hot) and hot salted caramel from the “Prost!” kiosk in Epcot's Germany pavilion, or the holiday feast you can treat yourself to at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square.

Carry a Jacket

The mid-day weather tends to be mild and is perfectly fine for wearing a short-sleeve shirt in. However, in the early morning and after sundown, it can drop to a point where you'll definitely be feeling the chill if you come unprepared. We recommend carrying at least a lightweight windbreaker in your bag—something that can ward off the wind chill when needed but packs down to about the size of your fist when you're not wearing it.

If you need slightly more warmth, bring a lightweight sweater and a hat along too.
