Guest Restrictions Increase in Magic Kingdom at Disney World

Magic Kingdom is getting ready to welcome the return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and if you’re hoping to join the fun, you might want to grab your tickets soon. The first night on August 15 will open the season, which continues through October 31. Already, several nights have sold out: August 15, August 17, August 19, August 22, August 29, September 12, and October 31.

Guests can expect all the seasonal favorites, from exclusive treats to special character sightings. Among the entertainment highlights is the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, featuring classic Disney characters, villains, and the Headless Horseman’s dramatic arrival. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will once again light up Cinderella Castle, while Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, hosted by Jack Skellington, will fill the sky.

A new detail for 2025: Jack and Sally’s costumes have been redesigned to better reflect their look from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). These meet-and-greets, along with rare character appearances like the Seven Dwarfs, are expected to be especially popular this year.

The party is one of the few times adults can wear full costumes in the parks, with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and other characters also dressing for the occasion. Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand with props, Magic Shots, and unique effects for Memory Maker and PhotoPass users.

Tickets vary in price depending on the date, ranging from $119 in early August to $229 closer to Halloween. Annual Passholders can save $10 on select August and September nights. Guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m. with a party ticket, giving plenty of time for rides before the Halloween fun officially starts at 7 p.m.

In 2024, all nights sold out by late September, and this year appears to be on the same path. With seven dates already unavailable and increasing access restrictions for the Magic Kingdom park, it’s worth booking early to experience this after-hours celebration filled with Halloween spirit.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
