Knott’s Berry Farm, known as America’s 1st Theme Park, has been a beloved destination for Southern California families and theme park fans for over 100 years. The speculation began when Reddit user u/amelie031203 noticed something unusual while browsing the Knott’s website. The Southern California theme park’s calendar indicated it would be closed for the entire month of November 2025. This notice raised alarm bells, as the popular Knott’s Merry Farm event traditionally begins in November, attracting countless visitors for its holiday festivities.

“I checked the website’s calendar and it’s saying it’s closed the entire month and I can’t find any information on it,” the Redditor wrote. “…As a season pass holder this is sad to see, and I was wondering if we would still be charged for a month we can’t even go to.”

This unexpected calendar update has left many guests questioning what could be happening behind the scenes at Knott’s Berry Farm.

A History of Year-Round Fun

Since its opening in 1920, Knott’s has grown into a cherished Southern California staple. From its humble beginnings as a real berry farm to the development of best-in-class theme park attractions, seasonal events like Knott’s Scary Farm and Knott’s Merry Farm, and the addition of the Knott’s Soak City water park, the park has cemented itself as a must-visit destination for families and thrill-seekers alike.

Unlike other seasonal parks, Knott’s Berry Farm operates year-round, closing only on Christmas Day and during rare weather events. Guests are accustomed to having access to the park no matter the season, making the notion of a full month-long closure particularly unsettling.

Knott’s Berry Farm Fans Debate

While the closure notice has sparked concern, some fans were quick to suggest that it may simply be a website error.

“It’s an error; they haven’t updated the November hours yet,” Reddit user u/BelovedBeagle commented. “The only day Knott’s is closed is Christmas Day (and occasionally on days when it rains way too much, which Knott’s announces on their social media). Knott’s should be open in November.”

Other guests pointed out similar issues they’ve experienced with the Knott’s online calendar.

“I went today but checked the app before going and it said it was closed today,” u/Naive_Move1211 shared. “I checked the live cams and saw that it was opened.”

At this time, Knott’s has not issued an official statement regarding the November 2025 closure notice. Most fans believe it to be a technical error, but the lack of clarity has left room for speculation about what the future might hold for the iconic theme park. For now, guests are encouraged to check the website closer to their planned visits for up-to-date hours and event schedules.
