The first major shift involved the Festival of Fantasy parade, which increased from one to two daily performances starting Sunday, February 9. The parade, which previously ran at 3 p.m., now takes place at both 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

This change impacted the Disney Adventures Cavalcade Parade, which saw its two daily showings at 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. reduced to a single performance at 5:10 p.m.

Daylight Saving Time will also bring an adjustment to Happily Ever After. Beginning tomorrow, March 9, the fireworks spectacular will shift from an 8 p.m. start to 8:30 p.m., with a further push to 9 p.m. beginning March 30.

For many Disney World visitors, entertainment offerings are just as integral to the experience as top-tier attractions like EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or Hollywood Studios’ Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Whether it’s live performances like Festival of the Lion King or nighttime extravaganzas such as the aforementioned Happily Ever After, these shows remain a staple of the park experience. However, seasonal and crowd-based scheduling adjustments often bring changes to the lineup.

Looking ahead, an even bigger addition is on the horizon for summer 2025: Magic Kingdom will debut its all-new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight. Announced at the 2024 D23 Expo, the new production will continue the legacy of the Main Street Electrical Parade, bringing updated technology and fresh storytelling to Magic Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment roster.

“Disney Starlight will continue the nighttime spectacular legacy started by the Main Street Electrical Parade using the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love,” Disney Parks Blog shared. “All of this is brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy, in addition to beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, and more.”

With these operational updates and the promise of a new parade on the way, Magic Kingdom guests have much to anticipate.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
