In November 2022, GMA3: What You Need to Know hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes found themselves creating headlines instead of reporting on them. It was leaked that the two ABC co-anchors were in a relationship. While that, in and of itself, isn’t a problem, the issue was that both Holmes and Robach were married. Not long after the relationship was revealed, Holmes and Robach confirmed that it was true, but said that they had not started seeing each other until they both separated from their respective spouses.
When news of the affair began making headlines, both Holmes and Robach were suspended from their anchoring positions. After several weeks, it was announced that the two would not be returning to GMA3: What You Need to Know. Both Robach and Holmes were having their contracts terminated and would be receiving severance packages. It was also reported that Robach received a much bigger payout than Holmes.
And now we may be learning a big reason why she got so much.
According to a new report from Radar Online, Robach was writing an explosive tell-all about her time at ABC News and the people she worked with. In order to stop the exposé from coming out, ABC reportedly offered her a lot more money, along with an NDA (non-disclosure agreement).
Amy Robach was planning the ultimate revenge if she got axed from Good Morning America over the scandalous affair with co-host T.J. Holmes by writing a blow-the-lid-off, tell-all book,RadarOnline.com learned.
Sources snitched the ex-morning show anchor, 49, was lining up who her real friends were when her messy romance with T.J. was under review by ABC — and they didn’t include GMA stars George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, or Robin Roberts.
The source warned that Amy knows all the skeletons in the network’s closet and could have used that as ammo — IF she didn’t get what she wanted during the exit meeting. “Amy knows the ins and outs of that place and who did what to whom, and she means to take it public,” they said.
Despite the trouble their relationship has caused, Robach and T.J. Holmes are still going strong. The two have been seen vacationing together, and sources close to them say that they are planning on getting married once their divorces are finalized.
In addition to the extra pay to not write the Good Morning America tell-all, Robach was also reportedly paid more because she had been at the company longer than T.J. Holmes. Holmes was also accused of having extra-marital affairs with multiple ABC staffers, while Robach did not. Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos have been hosting since Robach and Holmes left.
