Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is permanently closed at Disney Springs. Final service was September 13.
Some context.
Look, the restaurant that just closed only opened in 2018. Eight years is not an era by anybody's math.
But here is what almost nobody is connecting. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill was the last surviving piece of a Wolfgang Puck presence that goes back to when this district was still called Downtown Disney.
The original Wolfgang Puck Café opened on the West Side on September 15, 1997. Twenty-two thousand square feet. Genuinely popular. It eventually expanded to include Wolfgang Puck Express.
That café closed permanently on August 1, 2017, and the building got demolished to make room for Jaleo.
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill opened in Town Center the following year and kept the name alive in the district.
Now that is finished too. Nearly thirty years, gone.
What Actually Happened
Final day of service was Sunday, September 13, 2026. By September 15, the Disney Springs website had been updated to reflect the closure.
And the way this went public is the strange part.
Reservation availability quietly vanished for anything past September 13. Then cast members started proactively calling guests whose reservations fell on or after September 14, canceling them and offering help finding somewhere else.
So guests were being told individually, by phone, before either company had said a single public word. Meanwhile the Disney Springs listing and Wolfgang Puck's own website both still showed the restaurant operating completely normally.
That gap has now closed. Along with the restaurant.
What Is Going In There
Nothing announced. Not a word.
Disney has not commented on what is coming, and no replacement concept has surfaced.
Which matters, because this space is prime. Bar & Grill sat in Town Center right next to the Coca-Cola Store, in one of the highest-traffic stretches of the entire district, and it is a large full-service footprint, not some little counter.
A location that size does not sit empty for long. But full-service transitions usually run months, not weeks. Expect construction walls well before you get an announcement.
Disney Springs Is Losing a Lot Right Now
Wolfgang Puck joins a genuinely long list this year.
Recent departures:
- Johnston & Murphy, clothing
- Shore, clothing boutique
- Francesca's, more clothing
- Sprinkles Cupcakes, closed back in January
- Both Sunshine Churros kiosks
- The Disney Springs food trucks
The Sprinkles building has been running as pop-up space since, first for Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes and currently a temporary Ghirardelli store while that brand's real building gets renovated.
Stack it all up and you have a district in serious transition, with retail turnover running right alongside dining turnover.
Why This One Stings More
Most of those other closures were small. A cupcake shop. A churro kiosk. A clothing boutique.
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill was a full-service restaurant with a celebrity chef name guests actually recognized, in a prime location, with reservations booked months out.
Restaurant closures are not abstract when you plan Disney trips a year ahead. A confirmed dining reservation is very often tied to an anniversary, a birthday, an arrival night dinner, or a Disney Springs evening somebody spent real time arranging.
Those plans got canceled by phone on short notice. Disney reportedly offered help finding alternatives, but replacing a specific restaurant on a specific night at Disney Springs is not always doable.
If You Had a Reservation
You should have been contacted already. If you were not and your dates land after September 13, go check My Disney Experience and make sure it is not still sitting there.
Disney Springs still has plenty of table-service options, though availability swings hard depending on date, party size, and location.
Also worth knowing that dining prices across the district have been climbing this year, so a replacement reservation may not come in at the same number.
What Happens Next
The real development to watch is an announcement about that space.
Disney has offered no timeline, no concept, and no explanation for the closure itself. Neither has Wolfgang Puck.
Given the location and the size, whatever lands there is going to be a significant addition rather than a minor one. Worth watching even if you never ate at Bar & Grill once.
For now, a prominent Town Center restaurant is dark, a name attached to this district since 1997 is officially out, and nobody has said what comes next.
Nearly thirty years. Ended without a public goodbye.
