Official Disney Documents Reveal Plans to Triple ‘Avatar’ Theme Park Offerings

Disneyland Paris Resort may have inadvertently revealed major expansion plans during a recent media event, hinting that Disney’s third Avatar (2009) theme park project could be in development. The new clues emerged from concept materials shared during the announcement of Disney Adventure World and the upcoming debut of the World of Frozen land.

On Monday, Disneyland Paris Resort offered a closer look at the offerings planned for Disney Adventure World, the reimagined version of Walt Disney Studios Park, set to open on March 29, 2026. Disney Parks fans were shown updates on several large-scale additions, including an advanced Olaf audio-animatronic and the Raiponce Tangled Spin attraction.

Disney also shared details about Disney Cascade of Lights, a nighttime spectacular built around a floating stage and more than 379 drones. The performance will incorporate music and imagery from a wide slate of Disney and Pixar franchises, including Mulan (1998), Hercules (1997), Moana (2016), Zootopia (2016), Up (2009), and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Newly released 3D renderings of the floating stage quickly caught the attention of Disney Parks fans. Each arm of the structure appears to point toward a themed area of the park, labeled with names such as “FROZEN,” “RACER,” and “LION.” One label stood out in particular: “NAVI,” a term associated with the Na’vi, the fictional inhabitants of Pandora in Avatar.

🎆 For “Cascade of Lights”, a floating stage made of 5 big elements with lights, water screens, pyrotechnics and 379 drone launchpads will be pieced together silently by electric tug boats each night. Here’s a look at 3D renderings:

The “NAVI” labeled arm points toward an unused plot of land situated near an in-development land inspired by The Lion King (1994). Although the space is currently being used as a test site for a new log flume ride, an updated park map indicates that this area does not fall within the confirmed footprint of the future Lion King land.

A Possible Third Avatar Destination Emerges

The placement of the “NAVI” label suggests that Disney may be planning its third Avatar-inspired theme park land. Pandora – The World of Avatar opened Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World Resort in 2017. Disneyland Resort has confirmed an exclusive Avatar experience for Disney California Adventure Park as part of the DisneylandForward project. The reveal of a Na’vi reference in official Disneyland Paris Resort renderings raises the possibility of a third unique destination inspired by the franchise.

No Formal Announcement Yet From Disneyland Paris Resort

While the rendering provides a compelling clue, Disneyland Paris Resort has not formally announced an Avatar land for Disney Adventure World. If the leaked project moves forward, it remains unclear whether it would share similarities with existing attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park or the future area planned for Disney California Adventure Park.

Disney has used a similar development strategy in the past, creating multiple lands tied to the same franchise at different resorts worldwide. The rollout of Frozen (2013) lands across Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and now Disneyland Paris Resort is the most recent example of this approach.
