There is no doubt about it — a Disney vacation is an expensive one. Whether Guests are visiting Walt Disney World, Disneyland, one of Disney’s other theme parks, taking a Disney Cruise, or staying at a Disney property like Hilton Head, it’s not cheap. A lot of people don’t want to give up their chance to experience the Disney magic, so they try to find ways to save money on their vacation. This can be done by booking a trip when there are hotel discounts, traveling during less popular times of the year, and even seeing if places like Costco have better Park ticket prices.

Another popular way Guests try to save on their Disney vacation is by ordering groceries to be delivered to their hotel room. Eating out for every meal can add up quickly, so having groceries delivered can result in some serious savings. Typically, Bell Services at each Disney hotel will deliver the groceries to the Guest’s hotel room. However, a big change has recently been implemented with regard to grocery deliveries.

Effective August 1, Bell Services will no longer handle any alcoholic beverages, including alcohol in grocery deliveries.

Bell Services No Longer Accepting Alcohol Deliveries: Effective August 1, 2023, bell services at Disney and Disney Vacation Club resorts will no longer handle any alcoholic beverages included with guest grocery orders.

The legal drinking age in the United States is 21. However, Walt Disney World Resort sees millions of visitors every year who are traveling to Florida from other countries. In most other countries, if they do have a drinking age, it is younger than 21. When groceries deliveries are made that include alcohol, all that matters is that the person collecting the order is 21 or older.

Disney has no way of knowing who will be consuming the alcohol that comes in a grocery delivery. That could put Disney in legal jeopardy if an underage Guest was injured, or injured someone else, because they had been drinking illegally on property. Disney deals with hundreds of lawsuits every year. By not allowing Bell Services to handle grocery deliveries that include alcohol, they could be saving themselves time and money spent on future lawsuits.
