Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled new costumes for cast members at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom Park, marking the latest update to the beloved salon experience. This comes alongside other changes that went into effect on Wednesday, including simplified pricing tiers and visits from the Fairy Godmother during young guests’ makeovers.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, located in Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, offers children aged three to twelve the chance to transform into their favorite Disney Princess, a valiant knight, or even one of the sisters from Encanto (2021). Packages include options ranging from a pink T-shirt and sash to a full deluxe gown. Walt Disney World Resort used to have two other salon locations, at Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, but they have not reopened since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort first revamped the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience in 2022, allowing cast members of all genders to work at the salon. Previously, only cast members who identified as female were permitted, and they were known as Fairy Godmothers In Training. The update introduced both feminine and masculine costumes for the employees, now referred to as Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices.
Now, according to WDWNT, Walt Disney World Resort has introduced a new, gender-neutral costume for the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices at Magic Kingdom Park. Inspired by the Fairy Godmother herself and similar to the costumes worn by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cast members on the Disney Cruise Line, the outfit features a white, long-sleeve button-up under a periwinkle blue vest, matching periwinkle blue pants, a maroon bow tie, and a brooch almost identical to the one featured in previous costumes.
Previously, feminine-identifying Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices wore purple, pink, or blue frocks with short-sleeve light-colored button-ups underneath, long purple skirts, and headbands with veils. Masculine-identifying cast members wore a purple vest and slacks. Now, all Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique employees appear to be wearing the same gender-neutral attire, regardless of their personal gender identity.

The Disneyland Park location rolled out the same operational changes to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience this month. Still, it remains unclear whether the Southern California Disney park’s Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice costumes will match those at Magic Kingdom Park.
What do you think of the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique costumes? Disney Fanatic would love to hear from you in the comments!

Just so wrong on so many levels. They should have left the costumes the way they were, females were their costumes and man wear their costumes this BS about gender neutral crap is totally getting out of hand is ridiculous. I will never allow my child to ever go there, not that we will be going to Disney anymore anyway with the prices and all. Such a shame, Disney use to be a wonderful place to visit with family and make memories, now they only care about money and bull_____
I’m so sick of hearing about gender erasing, anything!! Disney is ruined for me and my family. What malarkey. Bibbity Boutique WAS a magical experience. Thank goodness I have my granddaughter’s pictures there from 8 years ago.
