‘Bluey’ Experience Requires a Virtual Queue, and Disney Just Dropped the Details

If you have a Bluey fan in your house, May 26 is already circled on the calendar. If it is not, it should be. Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station opens at Disney's Animal Kingdom on that date, and Disney just released the full breakdown of how it works, what it includes, and most importantly, how families actually get inside.

That last part is where most people will get tripped up if they do not read ahead.

The Virtual Queue Situation

Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station is operating on a virtual queue when it opens on May 26. There is no standby line. You cannot walk up and wait. The only way into the experience is through a boarding group requested via the My Disney Experience app, and there are two windows to do it.

The 7 a.m. window is the one that matters most. At 7 a.m., guests with a valid admission and a park reservation for Animal Kingdom can request to join the virtual queue. The detail that changes everything here is that you do not need to be physically inside the park at 7 a.m. to join this window.

Guests can be in your hotel room. They can be at home. Or you can be in the parking lot, eating a gas-station breakfast. As long as you have a valid admission and the app is open at seven in the morning, you can get a boarding group.

The 10 a.m. window is the backup, and it is significantly more restrictive. You need a valid admission, and you must already be inside Animal Kingdom when you join. If you missed 7 a.m. and are not through the gates by 10 a.m., your window for that day is closed.

Disney has indicated that a standby queue will open at a later date but for the opening period on and around May 26, the virtual queue is the only path in.

The virtual queue extends beyond the main Bluey experience. It also covers the Wildlife Express Train, Jumping Junction, and the Animal Care experiences at Conservation Station. The train departs from near Harambe Market in Africa and is the only way to reach Conservation Station from the main park. Factor that into your timing once your boarding group is called.

What Is Actually Inside Disney

Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station is a playful, immersive experience featuring appearances by Bluey and Bingo. The area also includes interactive versions of the Heeler family's games. Keepy Uppy is there. Magic Asparagus is there. Familiar music runs throughout, and the whole thing closes with a shower of bubbles.

Jumping Junction is a new shared habitat. Here, guests can see kangaroos and wallabies. Both are marsupials native to Australia, where Bluey and her family live. Conservation Station itself brings back the Veterinary Treatment Room, the Animal Nutrition Window, the Amphibian, Reptile, and Invertebrate Windows, and the Science Center.

The Food

Disney has built out a Bluey food lineup across multiple Animal Kingdom locations. At Pizzafari on Discovery Island, Fairy Bread Cake is a vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles with raspberry dipping sauce, a direct reference to the Australian treat popular in the show.

The Wackadoo Fruit Freeze is a frozen fruit punch drink garnished with fruit salad. Bluey's Berry Lemonade blends frozen lemonade with blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry flavors and is available at both Pizzafari and Eight Spoon Café.

At the Isle of Java, Pretzel's Pretzels serves soft mini pretzels with homemade cheese and blueberry mustard sauces. The Bluey Sipper is a souvenir cup available with a fountain beverage, limited to two per person per transaction.

Disney Merchandise and Photos

Bluey merchandise is at Island Mercantile on Discovery Island and at Conservation Station. Current items include youth rain jackets, pullovers, t-shirts with the Walt Disney World logo, and adult sweatshirts and tees. Bluey and Bingo plush headbands and a Create Your Own plush are arriving later this summer.

Three Bluey Magic Shots from Disney PhotoPass are available at the park entrance and near the Discovery River between Africa and Asia. Options are Granny Janet and Rita, a butterfly Keepy Uppy shot, and a Dance Mode shot with Bluey and Bingo.

The One Thing to Take Away

Everything about this experience depends on the virtual queue. The food, merchandise, and PhotoPass shots are spread across the park and are easily accessible. Bluey and Bingo, the animal habitats, the interactive games, and Conservation Station all require a boarding group.

7AM is when the clock starts. Have the app ready. Do not sleep through it.
