A long-dormant corner of Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park has finally been updated, and the Toy Story (1995)-inspired details that once defined the space have been quietly replaced with something more generically futuristic.
A New Look for This Tomorrowland Area at Magic Kingdom

Guests arriving in Tomorrowland on July 13 discovered that the character meet-and-greet area near Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin had been rethemed overnight. WDW News Today shared a photo of the updated space on Facebook, revealing that the Buzz Lightyear-themed backdrop and its Toy Story-inspired design elements have been replaced with more generic Tomorrowland aesthetics.
The toy-like faux-button decals that gave the area its Space Ranger personality are gone. The battery-inspired flooring tiles have been removed. All frames and surrounding details have been repainted in blue or silver, and the backdrop — while still intergalactic in feel — no longer carries the specific Toy Story (1995) identity that set the space apart. The LED sign that once read “SPACE RANGER MAP” is still present, but was switched off when the photo was taken.

A second meet-and-greet location in the same Tomorrowland corridor — a more generic silver garage door — has not yet received the same treatment. Whether Walt Disney World Resort plans to apply the new design there as well hasn't been confirmed.
Stitch and Chip & Dale are the characters most frequently greeting guests in these Tomorrowland meet-and-greet spots. For the most current character appearance schedules, the My Disney Experience app is the most reliable source on the day of a visit.
Part of a Broader Tomorrowland Evolution

The meet-and-greet refresh is the latest change during an active period of transformation for Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. The last remaining 1994 decorative tower was removed from the area on the same day the new meet-and-greet theming debuted. The updated Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin has already reopened, and Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is currently closed for its first major reimagining since 1994. Rumors have also begun circulating that a Space Mountain overhaul announcement could come at the upcoming D23 Expo.
