If you’ve been noticing less and less welcoming environments on your latest Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort trips, then rest assured that you are (unfortunately) not imagining the unpleasant phenomenon.

Disney Guests really are being more rude, unkind, ungrateful, and downright violent than they have been in the past.

Mutilations, Beatings, and More

We have seen Guests mutilate each other and beat each other bloody on the streets of Disney Parks like the Magic Kingdom recently, and a Jackass-esque documentary is being made about these people’s terrible behavior.

Unsurprisingly, the Disney employees called Cast Members have noticed this increase in bad behavior.

In a recent conversation on Reddit, one disconcerted Disney World Guest shared that they “couldn’t help but reflect on how incredibly annoying and rude other Guests were the whole trip.”

“Just some examples were people blatantly ignoring CM directions, running into me and even body slamming me to get ahead to rides at rope drop, and even openly berated CMs over seemingly small things,” the Guest added. “I didn’t let it ruin the experience for me but it was enough to take notice. Has anyone else noticed an increase in this type of behavior among fellow Guests? I feel bad for the CMs.”

“Even Just a Smile and Hello Is Enough”

One Disney Cast Member responded, confirming that this Guest was right. “People are being…difficult lately,” the Cast Member sadly conceded. “But plenty of other Guests are able to make it up [to] us.”

“General advice for the people in the back,” the Cast Member continued, “even just a smile and hello is enough to make a CM bend over backwards for you now.”

“We want you to have a wonderful time, we’ll tell you where to eat, where to watch, fun facts. We just need to be treated like people. I know no one in here needs to hear it, it just helps to write it out,” the Cast Member explained.

What’s the Magic Cure?

Their suggestions for additional comfort were Happily Ever After and the iconic Mickey Mouse ice cream bars.

Many other Disney Guests did agree that “fellow Guests are always the worst part of the theme parks” and that these days, Disney Parks like the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT really do contain many “overly-entitled, selfish” people.

However, this Cast Member’s hint about treating Cast Members a little more kindly to help soothe their wounds — and getting some special treatment in the process — might help some Disney Guests have better Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort vacations going forward!
