One of the most iconic hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort has been undergoing some major changes in its restaurants in recent years, and according to the latest announcement from Disney, it appears this work will continue. Last year, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened a re-themed Citricos with the decor of this signature restaurant now inspired by Mary Poppins Returns (2018). Earlier, fans also saw the reimagining of Mizner’s Lounge to the Enchanted Rose Lounge, inspired by the live-action Beauty and the Beast (2017). Next up, Disney has announced that Narcoossee’s will be undergoing changes as well during a refurbishment beginning later this year.
According to Disney’s official announcement, the restaurant will close on June 18, 2022, and will reopen later this year on a date yet to be determined. The official notice from Disney reads:
Beginning June 18, 2022, Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be unavailable due to refurbishment. However, reservations at Narcoossee’s will be available through June 17, 2022. We expect to return later this year with an enhanced table-service experience.
Aside from mention of an “enhanced table-service” experience, Disney has not released any details on what Guests can expect when Narcoossee’s does reopen at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Given past updates to the resort’s restaurant, it seems possible that the restaurant will be given some loose theming inspired by a Disney film, and perhaps some menu updates, but without official word from Disney it is too soon to know for sure.
Narcoossee’s is currently an ultimate date-night or special occasion restaurant for Guests visiting Walt Disney World with its prime location at Disney’s flagship resort and its spot right on the water. The menu currently features a mix of steak, seafood, and vegetarian offerings, perfectly complimenting the other restaurants currently open at the resort.
While most dining experiences at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa have reopened, Guests are still waiting for a couple of locations to come back online, including the Garden View Tea Room and 1900 Park Fare.
