Cinderella Castle’s pink color scheme is disappearing fast as Walt Disney World Resort completes the transformation back to classic gray, blue, and gold tones by year’s end.
Nearly the entire back half of the Magic Kingdom Park icon now displays the new gray paint, with crews beginning work on the front-facing side, according to a report from WDWNT on Thursday.
Half of Cinderella Castle Already Transformed

Painters started with one spire on the castle’s rear in January, then expanded coverage across the entire back half. Trim work around windows on that side has also begun.
The front half shows early gray applications near the clock area, though most work remains focused on the back. It’s unclear whether the gray is a final color or a primer for additional detail work.
Walt Disney World Resort announced the repainting project in August 2025 after the pink, blue, and gold 50th anniversary color scheme lingered years beyond the celebration’s March 2023 conclusion. @DisneyParks shared concept art on X (formerly known as Twitter):

Entertainment Changes During Construction

The project forced several operational adjustments, including removing characters from the “Let the Magic Begin” opening show and pushing “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” to later showtimes. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Daisy Duck now make unscheduled roaming appearances in Fantasyland some mornings as compensation.
The “50” medallion that decorated the clock area during anniversary festivities was removed before repainting began.
Walt Disney World Resort has committed to finishing the project by December 2026 without specifying an exact date. Once complete, the pink anniversary scheme that has defined Cinderella Castle since 2021 will be permanently replaced by a classic color palette that has characterized the landmark for decades.
