Walt Disney World Resort guests are noticing a sudden change at EPCOT, and it's raising questions. A popular Chinese beverage has reportedly vanished from Club Cool, an interactive merchandise location in the park's World Celebration neighborhood. The timing of its disappearance is fueling speculation as it coincides with Donald Trump‘s return to the presidency.
Club Cool's Chinese Drink Mysteriously Pulled
Club Cool, located near Connections Café and Creations Shop, is a guest-favorite spot to try Coca-Cola beverages from around the world. It's famous for offering free samples of international soft drinks, including Italy's notoriously bitter Beverly. However, one drink has quietly disappeared from the lineup: China's Suan Mei Tang, or Sour Plum Tea.

According to WDWNT, the Chinese beverage has been removed from all self-serve soda fountains at Club Cool. The official Walt Disney World Resort description for the drink previously read:
“Suan Mei Tang or Sour Plum Tea is a traditional Chinese beverage that has existed for over 1,000 years. Smart Sour Plum has a savory, sweet and tart flavor that is considered by many to be the ultimate sparkling thirst quencher on a hot day.”
Instead of the usual labels, guests now see stickers instructing them to “Please Try Another Flavor.” Walt Disney World Resort has not publicly addressed the removal, leaving Disney Parks fans to speculate whether this change is temporary or permanent.
Is There a Political Connection?

The removal of Sour Plum Tea comes as tensions between the United States and China continue to escalate. China recently announced new tariffs on American goods following President Trump‘s promise to impose further tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. It's unclear whether Suan Mei Tang's disappearance is connected to the ongoing trade disputes between the two nations.
While Disney has made no official statement linking the two events, guests can't help but wonder if the removal is part of a larger shift. The China Pavilion in EPCOT‘s World Showcase remains operational, but this small change has sparked a much bigger discussion.
A History of Disappearing Drinks at Club Cool

This isn't the first time a beverage has gone missing from Club Cool. Over the years, drinks have cycled in and out of the lineup, often due to supply chain issues. Some fan-favorite sodas have been pulled from the station for weeks or even months before making a return. Whether China's Sour Plum Tea will follow the same pattern remains to be seen.
With no clear explanation from Walt Disney World Resort, the removal of this Chinese beverage is leaving guests with more questions than answers. Could this be a routine supply change, or is there a deeper reason behind the switch?
