Ever wonder what happens when you toss a coin into a fountain or waterway at Walt Disney World? Every so often, Disney goes through fountains and waterways to collect coins, which are then totaled up so the amount of money can be donated to help support the efforts of a local organization. Recently, $30,000 worth of coins were collected from around Walt Disney World with these funds being sent right to Give Kids the World Village in Central Florida.

Give Kids the World Village has played an instrumental role in wish-granting at Walt Disney World for kids and families from around the world since it was established in 1986. The property gives families visiting Disney Parks on Wish trips a fun and whimsical place to stay together away from hospital settings right near the Walt Disney World Resort.

The latest donation of the coins from the Cinderella wishing well and other waterways around Walt Disney World is just the latest way the company has supported Give Kids the World and wish-granting organizations this year. Disney kicked off “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth,” with a $3 million grant to six nonprofit organizations located in Central Florida, among which Give Kids the World was included.
