A performance of Walt Disney World Resort’s Country Bear Jamboree took a dark turn when a malfunction led to the on-stage “death” of one of the attraction’s iconic animatronics. A TikTok video shows the malfunction in vivid detail, leaving guests startled and Disney cast members rushing to evacuate the Magic Kingdom Park attraction.
Mid-way through the show, Bubbles, one of the animatronic bears, began leaking hydraulic fluid in front of the audience. As the malfunction progressed, the bear froze, “dead” on stage. Disney cast members sprung into action.
Country Bear Jamboree Goes Awry
The Country Bear Jamboree has been part of Walt Disney World Resort since its opening in 1971. Last year, the Magic Kingdom Park attraction underwent a reimagining, transforming into The Country Bear Musical Jamboree. This Nashville-inspired revue features popular Disney songs performed in a country style.
The reimagined show introduced new animatronics that honored the classic look of the Country Bear characters. Alongside the new additions, a name change occurred for the character Liver Lips McGrowl, who was rebranded as Romeo McGrowl. While the other bears, such as Big Al and Trixie, kept their original names, the new version of the attraction aimed to blend the past with modern technology.
TikTok Video Captures the Malfunction
TikTok user @emmamarryme recently reshared a video taken years before The Country Bear Musical Jamboree reimagining. The clip captures the shocking moment when hydraulic fluid leaks onto the animatronic’s leg, soaking part of its costume and fur.

As Bubbles continued to perform, the fluid leaked over her fur before the bear powered down completely, leaving guests in disbelief.
Immediate Action and Repairs
Disney cast members acted quickly, ushering guests out of the area and bringing maintenance crews to clean up the mess and address the issue. The animatronic was eventually restored and continued operating until its 2024 refurbishment for the revamped Country Bear Musical Jamboree show.
