Craft Your Own Poison Apple Debuts at Crystal Arts in Disney Springs

Crystal Arts at Disney Springs is now letting you craft your own poison apple.

Eighty nine dollars. You pick the crystals that go inside.

And you do not need admission to anything.

Some context.

The sign went up at the store on Wednesday, September 30, with a sample sitting out. Small apple, see-through, crystals visible inside. The display one had red and green.

The sign says it in two lines:

“Trick: Craft your own apple Treat: Choose your magic crystals”

So you build the apple, you choose what sparkles inside it. Crystal Arts is in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs.

Here Is Why This Is Actually a Big Deal

Every other build-your-own thing at Walt Disney World lives behind a turnstile.

Droid Depot? Hollywood Studios ticket. Savi's Workshop? Hollywood Studios ticket. Princess makeover? Park or resort. So the real price is always the experience plus admission.

Disney Springs costs nothing to walk into and nothing to park at.

Which makes this the most accessible make-your-own souvenir on the entire property. And if you are a local without an annual pass, probably the only one that is realistic.

Is $89 a Lot for a Glass Apple

Yes and no.

Compared to a t-shirt, obviously yes.

Compared to Disney's other build-your-own experiences, $89 is actually at the bottom of the range. Some of the in-park ones cost several times that.

Then factor in that you are not buying a ticket to get there. The math looks pretty different.

Crystal Arts Is Not a Normal Gift Shop

If you have breezed past this store a hundred times, fair, but you are missing something.

Crystal Arts is run by Arribas Brothers, a family glass operation that has been cutting and engraving at Walt Disney World for decades. One of the longest-running independent craft businesses on property. The work happens right there in front of you.

In a shopping district increasingly full of stuff you could buy online, somebody cutting glass by hand is rare.

They Are Adding a Silhouette Studio Too

Part of the store is walled off for construction right now. It is becoming a Studio for Silhouettes.

Described as having “an interactive wish builder spot” with “cool lights” and other features. Nobody has explained what an interactive wish builder is. We will find out.

Here is the part worth noticing, though. Silhouette cutting is one of the oldest crafts in Disney parks, where an artist snips your profile out of black paper freehand in about a minute.

So this store is adding a silhouette studio and a build-your-own glass experience at the exact moment everybody is complaining that Disney retail feels generic.

Good. More of that.

Okay, Is This Halloween Only

Honestly? Nobody knows.

The sign literally says “Trick” and “Treat,” and it appeared on the last day of September. That is pretty loud.

But Disney has not announced an end date and has not called it limited time anywhere.

So it could vanish November 1, or it could be permanent with a seasonal sign on it.

If you want one, do not gamble on December.

Villain Era, Unlocked

The poison apple is from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which is where Disney animated features began, and it has turned into the go-to Disney villain icon. Ears, tumblers, jewelry, all of it.

A glass one you put together yourself, with crystals you picked out, is a significantly cooler object than another printed version of the same apple.

A green poison apple with a dripping skull design glows eerily in a dimly lit, smoky environment. Reminiscent of the Evil Queen's dark magic, the top of the apple includes a small brown stem, creating a sinister, Halloween-like atmosphere.

Go Knowing

Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers. Marketplace, Disney Springs. $89.

Part of the store is torn up for the silhouette studio, so the layout is not what you remember.

And again, no ticket. Just park and walk in.
