Iconic Disney princess Moana gave a performance that was caught on camera, and it was…interesting, to say the least…
One of the primary parts of the Disney experience that fans adore is meeting their favorite Disney princesses and characters in person, interacting with them, and even seeing them in and around the parks, whether in a more organic experience or in a more curated setting.
Disney is known for its high standard of entertainment, and one of the most crucial parts is the performances and interactions feeling authentic. In fact, Disney is so particular about this that many have criticized the Mouse House for taking it to the extreme and not treating their cast members like human beings.
Be it because of Disney’s high standards or because of simple guest expectations, fans are unhappy and express their displeasure when things don’t live up to expectations.
Recently, a TikTok user took to the platform to share a video of the Disney princess Moana dancing during the Magic Happens parade, but the video, rather than sharing a happy moment, depicts the cast member dancing in a decidedly awkward manner, with her steps seeming robotic and forced.

The dance is so off-base that the video has inset captions that read, “Okaaaayyyy hold TF up WTF is this??”
Fans in the comments were unsurprised but also decidedly unhappy with Disney. One commented, “its in america we aren’t surprised.”
Another chimed in, “i understand they’re timed but bae slow down, add some soul.”
However, while many called out the cast member, fellow guests and fans came to her defense, pointing out that she was just doing what she had been told to do, and was following the choreographer’s instructions.
One fan went so far as to say, “for anyone going after the cast member you need SERIOUS help… she was probably just placed in that role (cm can play more than one role) and HIGHLY doubt she got to pick the choreography herself, hoping she’s fired or making fun of her is way too far.”
Ultimately, as some pointed out, the responsibility for this predicament lies with Disney for not identifying an appropriate Polynesian choreographer for this cast member to learn from, and it’s the Disney park’s duty to uphold the standard they have already set.
