Many frequent Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort visitors — or even non-Disney theme park visitors — will have a certain amount of common sense when it comes to planning their Disney vacations during peak vacation times like spring break or Easter break.
Unfortunately, one unsuspecting family headed to Disney World without said common sense — and they just paid the price in a big way on their Disney vacation!
In a Walt Disney World Resort conversation on Reddit, a Reddit user (RjbStamps15) complained at length about their disappointing Walt Disney World Resort visit, saying that it was actually their “worst holiday”.
Today me and my family visited Magic Kingdom, gotta be honest worse day of our holiday so far,” the former Disney fan wrote. They then began to list their grievances.
“First off the park was so rammed with people we can barely walk to get to the attractions”. This is no doubt due to the fact that it is spring break and Easter break, which are both red flags for many frequent theme park visitors and Disney vacation enthusiasts.
“Secondly, we paid for genie plus and my mothers completely disappeared from the Disney app thus meaning we couldn’t book lightning lanes for her.”
The Disney Genie service add-on called Genie+ is certainly a controversial one among Disney Park Guests who miss the old FastPass system, so that Disney vacation complaint is not surprising!
“Thirdly, one of the attractions was down” — again, this is not surprising since we have been seeing reports of a “ridiculous” number of ride breakdowns in Disney Parks — “which we had a lightning lane for, which was totally understandable these things happen but we were told we could use it on another attraction (apart from some)”.
“When we got to another attraction we where told . That the ride wasn’t “officially closed” and that the lightning lanes won’t work. In end we went on 3 rides getting here at 11:30 and it now being 16:34,” the unhappy Guest complained. “We had enough and ended up walking out the park in anger”.
These unfortunate Disney Guests apparently also tried to get help via Guest Services to improve their Disney experience, and “they said it was resolved but it still says she is is ineligible on the Disney World app”.
“It’s just not good enough considering we had paid all of the money to come to the magical ‘Walt Disney World’ and paid for the genie plus service which failed to work,” the Disney Guest added. Complaints about Disney’s rising prices are definitely nothing new, either!
“Safe to say we won’t be coming back. It’s just “pay to win” and so stressful trying to get onto rides with the genie plus and lighting lane. It used to be so simple with the old fastpass system,” the former Disney fan mourned.
